          Edward R. Crosier 1933 - 2013 WEST SPRINGFIELD
          -Edward Richard Crosier, 79, passed away Friday at his home. He was born in Springfield to the Dorothy (Millett) and Everett Crosier. Edward worked for Holyoke Radio, UPS, and as a rigger at Central Rigging Co. in Connecticut. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in W. Spfld. Ed enjoyed collecting Budweiser Steins, watching Nascar races, cheering on the Red Sox and New England Patriots, although his son was slowly turning him into a Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Rays fan. He loved to travel to the games of his favorite teams, but above all he enjoyed sharing "A" Budweiser with his family and friends and showing off his Budweiser rooms. Ed leaves his beloved wife Gisele (Begin) Crosier, his loving children, Edward Crosier and his wife Wendy of Zephyrhills, FL and Angel Lee Matthews of W. Spfld.; his 5 adored grandchildren, Sabrena, Shaun and Brian Calhoun and Steffanie and Mitchell Crosier, 3 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Makayla and Tanner Calhoun, his sisters, Shirley Lebert and Betty Murray both of Chicopee. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Crosier and 2 sisters, June Guindon and Dorothy Veins. There will be a Funeral Home Service, 11AM Thursday at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., burial will be private. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice 1236 Main Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.

          Earl B. Crosier 1924 - 2010 WORTHINGTON Earl B. Crosier, 86, of 109 Sam Hill Road, passed away Monday at Berkshire Medical Center following a brief illness. Born March 9, 1924, in Dalton, son of Earl B. and Maude Mather Crosier, Earl was a 1942 graduate of Dalton High School. Following high school, Earl served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Burma, China, and India from 1943- 1946. He was employed as a carpenter for various local contractors building houses; in 1961 he went to work at General Electric as a carpenter, retiring in 1986 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church.
          Earl was an avid Red Sox fan who rarely missed a game, enjoyed watching and cheering for the Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
          His wife, the former Marguerite G. Mongue, whom he married July 15, 1943, died Feb. 24, 2008.
          Earl leaves his two sons Craig R. Crosier of Dalton, James A. Crosier of Hinsdale, grandchildren Keith Crosier, Karen Accardi, Kevin Crosier, Kimberly Clayton, Mark Crosier and 15 great-grandchildren.
          FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Ashuelot Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
          Donations in Earl's memory may be made to the American Legion Post 155 or to Anthony J. She enjoyed gardening and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Mrs. Crosier leaves her husband, Earl B. Crosier, whom she married July 15, 1943; two sons, Craig R.           -- Mr. and Mrs. Edmund D. Somes were feted Saturday in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the First Congregational Church. Mr. Somes, a native of Otis, served a term as selectman and held a position on the Board of Assessors for many years. He also was president of the local Red Cross chapter during World War II and was president of the parent-teacher organization. In the First Congregational Church, he was deacon, clerk, and Sunday school superintendent for many years. Mrs. Somes, the former Eunice Morgan of Burlington, VI., was a deaconess active in church work for many years. She is a past president of the Ladies' Aid Society, and for a period she assisted in the school hot-lunch program. She was a Cub Scout den mother. She is a member of Liberty Star chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. and Mrs. Somes now are deacon and deaconess emeritus at First Congregational. For many years Mr. Somes was associated with his father as a professional land surveyor. After a f e w years as a private surveyor, he joined Robert G. Brown Associates of Lee. He retired three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Somes have three sons, Malcolm E. of Lee, Marshall M. of Westminster, Calif., and Melvin A. Somes of Lanesboro. They have six grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Foley Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Agnes' Church. Burial will be in Ashuelot Street Cemetery. Calling hours-at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

          Jinnie I Leonard, 89, a resident of Richmond Avenue, Hoosick Falls, died peacefully at the Hoosick Falls Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on June 22, 2014.
          Born on June 3, 1925 in Middle Granville, New York, she was the daughter of Frederic Morse and Cora (Crosier) Morse. She received her early education in Granville. During World War II, Jinnie worked at the Behr - Manning Industries in Watervliet, NY. Following the war, she was employed as a telephone operator in Troy, NY.
          Jinnie married her husband of 63 years, Philip Leonard, on April 5, 1951 in a military wedding in Arkansas. For many years she worked as a customer service representative at KeyBank in Hoosick Falls, and in later years volunteered at the Hoosick Falls Health Center.
          Jinnie’s zest for life and love of adventure was evident in many of her passions. She loved to travel throughout the world and she and Phil visited over 30 countries on 6 continents as well as almost every state in the U.S. She enjoyed dancing with her husband at various venues, playing cards with family and friends, and trips to casinos. But most of all, Jinnie enjoyed spending quality time with family, including her husband, children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren, who showed great
          excitement when seeing her, anticipating the hidden surprises in her pocketbook.
          Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Fred (and Janet) from Nebo, North Carolina, a daughter, Sue (and Greg) of North Bennington, VT, a grandson and wife, Chris and Lauren Maguire of Arlington, VT, a granddaughter, Kara, of Lafayette, Colorado, and two great-grandchildren, Ella and Hogan Maguire, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jinnie was predeceased by two brothers, Oliver and David, and a sister, Clara.
          There will be no calling hours or service but instead, at Jinnie’s request, there will be a private “family celebration of her wonderful life”. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY.
