Stone Wed to Levi Snell Chapman The marriage of Miss Maudie Lorena Stone of 525 5th St. and Levi Snell Chapman of Syracuse took place last evening in the Park Slope Congregational Church of Brooklyn. Dr. Frederick Peters of Holbrook, N. Y., and the Rev. John Harrer, pastor of the church, officiated at the ceremony, which was followed by a reception in the church parlors. Miss Stone, who was given in marriage by her cousin, Louis Talcott Stone, wore a gown of Alencon lace, with cape sleeves, and a tulle veil held by a cap of rose point, which belonged to her grandmother, fastened by orange blossoms and bordered with Dutchess lace. She carried white roses, valley lilies and maiden hair ferns. Her only attendant was her cousin, Mrs. Cora Crosier Fillsce of Philadelphia, who wore a gown of printed chiffon, and a draped toque of green straw and silver slippers. She carried talisman roses and maiden hair fern. The best man was Mr. Chapman's son, Charles R. Chapman, and the ushers were Dr. Horace Mann Snyder, William Reed, Lt. Richard Channing Moore, Arthur F. Hebard Jr., Stanton G. Litchfield, Raymond Bowen and Paul Dix Jones. Miss Stone, the daughter of the late Dr. Lewis Porter and Cora Catherine Crosier Stone, was a teacher of physical training, economics and civics in the Manual Training High School. She is a member of the Vermont chapter of the Mayflower Society and the Brattleboro chapter of the D.A.R. She attended Houghton Seminary, Lasell Seminary and was graduated from Dr. Sargent's School of Physical Education. Mr. Chapman is a graduate of Syracuse University and a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He served as a trustee of that university for 20 years, and was a member of the New York State Assembly for one term. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Mr. and Mrs. Chapman will sail Thursday on the Columbia for a cruise to Haiti, Jamaica, Columbia and Panama, and after Sept. 1, will reside at 321 Westcott St., Syracuse. |

From: Albany Times Union, Aug. 16, 2017 Crosier, Lee EAST BERNE Lee Storm Crosier, 70, died on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's with her children by her side. She was born in Hoboken, N.J., to the late Leonard and Doris Storm. She graduated from Bethlehem High School, class of 1965. Lee waitressed at Rest Seekers Inn in East Berne and the Turf Inn in Albany. She worked for the Anne Lee Home and Albany County Nursing Home, retiring in 2009 as an administration aide. Lee loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George F. Crosier in 1999. She is survived by her children, Monica Filkins Castelli, David (Audra) Filkins and Marcy (John) Crosier Ashline; her grandchildren, Wesley Grippin, Morgan Castelli, Olivia Castelli and Keenan Filkins; her brothers, Richard (Wendy) Storm and Raymond (Karen) Storm; her aunt, Margaret Filkins; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lee's memory to the Helderberg Ambulance Squad, P.O. Box 59, East Berne, NY 12059. |

From: The Berkshire Eagle, Oct. 3, 2009 Jane Stutz Wells 1944 - 2009 LEE Jane Alison Stutz Wells, 65, of West Brookfield, formerly of Lee, died on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, after battling cancer for several years and is now with the Lord. She was born June 16, 1944, daughter of Herbert and Claudine Stutz. Jane graduated from Lee High School and University of Massachusetts and made a life-time career of teaching, both public and private school. She, along with her husband, were active in Christian education programs in their church. Jane loved her family and skied, golfed, and traveled with them whenever possible. She leaves her husband, G. David Wells. They were married for 44 exciting and adventurous years. They attributed their joy to a life of dedication to God's glory. Jane was known for her faith. Jane was predeceased by her father, Herbert Henry Stutz, and her mother, Claudine Marie Hinckley Stutz. She was also predeceased by a son, Geoffrey Bert Wells, and a grandson, Camden Pierce Wells. She also leaves children, Heidi Goyette, Peter Wells, and Todd Wells; grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan Goyette, Jaxon and Kaden Wells, and Hunter and Jamie Wells. She also leaves her sisters, Carole Wenger, Claudia Wells, and Muriel Brown, as well as many relatives and friends. Jane's exuberant spirit and zest for life will be missed but never forgotten. We look forward to a reunion in God's everlasting Kingdom. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial funeral service for Jane will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the East Brookfield Baptist Church, 262 Main St. in East Brookfield. Immediately following the funeral, there will be a reception for visitors and the family at the church. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the VARNUM FUNERAL HOME, INC., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial will be held privately in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. |
