Recived a copy of Alexanders birth certificate from Mickie Kurylo a genealogist. The document was written in Russian. The following is the translation: Birth registered and child baptised in Czerwonka on 1/13 June, 1886 at 5PM. Declarent/father: Jan Poplawski, 20 yo, worker from Czerwonka Whitnesses: Feliks Golebiewski, 50 yo, and Jan Niewiadomski, 60 yo, farmers from Czerwonka. Newborn boy: "born on this day of the current year at 1 o'clock in the night", named Aleksander by the priest Franc(iszek) Zawadzki. Mother Maryanna nee Rudnicka, 21 yo Godparents Jan Bodziak and Magdalena Brodniak in Russian (et al.) names/surnames are declined. Feliksa and Jana in this document are Feliks and Jan in Genitive case. You will see that there are 2 different dates of his birth, that is because this record is written in Russian, so they use both the Russian calendar and the Julian calendar. In the Julian calender Aleksander's birth is stated June 13, 1886 which converts to June 24, 1886 in the present day Gregorian calender. \The North Adams Transcript from North Adams, Massachusetts · Page 10 January 14, 1952 Alexander Poplawski Funeral services for Alexander Poplawski of Summit, avenue who died Friday night, were held this morning at 9 o'clock at St Stanislaus Kostka church.
