Well known in the community, he had enjoyed baseball, wrestling, and horse racing. He was a veteran of World War I. He married the former Alice Bushee who died Oct. 1, 1951. Survivors are his father, Charles Davis of Searsburg: one stepson, Alfred Bushee of Danby; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Becker, Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Harrington of Bennington; four brothers, Daniel Davis of Woodford, Ernest Davis of West Ludlow, NY, Cassius Davis and Howard Davis of Searsburg; two grand children, Gordon and Kenneth Bushee; also nieces nephews and cousins. The funeral will be held from Mahar Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 PM. The Rev. Earle Forman of the Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in the Aldridge Cemetery, Clarksburg. |

Bernice was born in Wilmington on April 4, 1930, the daughter of Lawrence and Annette (Howard) Davis. She received her education in Wilmington schools, graduating from Wilmington High School, Class of 1948. Bernice worked for many years as a cook at the Red Mill, the Long Jim and Skyline restaurants. She also worked alongside her husband at Molly Stark State Park. She was an avid New England Patriots fan and longtime member of the Eastern Star. She most enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Linda Farnum and her husband Dick of Guilford, with whom she resided for the last 18 months, Kenneth G. Sullivan and his wife Ann of Wilmington, Jannette Finck of Shelburne, Mass.; son-in-law, Tom Finck of Colrain, Mass., and Jody Kelleher of Shelburne, Mass.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Littlefield and her husband Bob, Marcy Pericolosi and her husband Craig, Matthew Finck and his wife Jennifer, Ricky Fletcher and his partner Rebecca Greene, Kerianne Sullivan, Aaron Sullivan and his wife Heather, Otis Sullivan, Eli Place and Robert Strange and his wife Michelle; great-grandchildren, Lara, Katelyn and Garrett Littlefield, Delaney and Mackenzie Pericolosi, Raven and Ryan Jamison, Mason, Hunter and Lexi Finck, Cassie and Erica Fletcher, Kyle, Hannah, Riley and Zachary Sullivan and Becca Sullivan; three brothers, George Davis and his wife Ginny, Hank Davis and his wife Ruth and Michael Davis and his wife Jill; brother-in-law, Eugene Sullivan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Edward Sullivan, in 2006 and great-granddaughter Adrien Jamison. A Mass of Christian death and burial will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Wilmington. Interment will follow in the family lot in Riverview Cemetery. He was born in Syracuse, March 5, 1926 the son of Gordon Harold and Mary Elizabeth (Middleton) Davis. He grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Nottingham High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged November 2, 1945. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Syracuse University. Following graduation he and his wife moved to Geneva, NY, and began a teaching career that spanned 35 years in the Geneva public school system. He was a science teacher during the school year and served as principal during the summer classes. He was active in many civic organizations. He served as president of the American Heart Association, and was a devoted member of Rotary International. David enjoyed the outdoors, including sailing, skiing, golfing, and canoeing. He and his wife traveled extensively in the US and abroad. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Joy S. (Strott), whom he married November 6, 1948 in Syracuse; five children, Andrea Davis Van Ness and her husband James of Peru, David Paul Davis, Jr. of Fulton, Carol Ann Davis and her husband Brian Jones of Fort Collins, Colorado, Barbara Jane Davis of Ripton, Vermont, and Margaret Joy Beardsley and her husband Michael of Ripton, Vermont; five grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Gwen, Keshia, and Paul; one great-granddaughter, Kate; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Mary Davis, Oliver Davis, and Barbara Ann Colvin. |

Keith A. Witherell, 45 August 01, 2002 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Keith Allyn Witherell, 45, of 11 Apache Drive died Thursday morning, Aug. 1, 2003, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident July 29. Born in Pittsfield on June 17, 1957, son of James A. and Ruth Scace Witherell of Williamstown, he attended schools there and graduated from the Devereau (Pa.) Preparatory School. He received his commercial trucking license after graduating in June from New England Tractor Trailer School. At the time of his death, Mr. Witherell was employed by Taconic Valley Trucking Co. in Pittsfield. He first worked as a salesman at Anderson Furniture Store and with Kirby Vacuum Cleaners, both in Pittsfield, and Brookfield Shoe Store in Lenox. He also worked for Berkshire Custom Coating Co. in Pittsfield and Powder Shield Technologies in Adams. He enjoyed traveling, camping and outdoor activities, including riding his motorcycle, driving his truck and flying kites. Besides his parents, he leaves his wife, the former Mary Ozelek, whom he married May 19, 1978; a daughter, April Witherell of North Adams; four brothers, Eugene Witherell of the state of Florida, James Witherell of Dalton, Kent Witherell of Pittsfield and William Crosier of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sisters, Kate Witherell of Great Barrington, Jeanette Crosier of North Adams and Margaret Crosier of Syracuse; his paternal grandmother, Ethel Parrott of Pittsfield, and a grandson. A family member, Richard Eli "Reggie" Crosier, predeceased him. He was born May 23, 1934, in North Adams, and was the son of the late Beatrice LePage McKeon and Benjamin Davis, Sr. Mr. Davis was educated in North Adams schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country honorably for 12 years and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was employed with Lockheed Aircraft Service Company at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, after he left the Air Force. He ultimately retired as highway repair foreman from the Massachusetts Highway Department where he worked for 24 years. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Mr. Davis is survived by his two sons, Robert E. Davis of Florence, and Griffin D. Davis, Jr. of Lorton, Virginia; daughters Deborah Davis of Northampton, and Stacey Curtis of Sanford, Maine; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann O'Neill of New Bern, North Carolina, and Carol Couture of Adams; and two brothers, William and Timothy McKeon of New Bern, North Carolina. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas McKeon, Jr., Benjamin Davis, David McKeon, Sr., and sister Jean LaFreniere. Griffin's wish was for his service to be private. The family thanks the staff at the Soldier's Home in Holyoke, and Hospice Life Care of Holyoke for their loving and respectful care. |

Lonnie enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and friends and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and would generously give the items to family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Thelma Gomez and her husband Juan. Lonnie leaves a son, Bryan Davis of Virginia who is currently serving in the Navy; a daughter, Rebecca Davis of Mississippi; and a grandson, Jastin LaBauve. He leaves four sisters, Janice of Belchertown, Lorie and her husband Edward of Florida, Mass., Gloria and her husband Jerry, and Carla and her husband Josh both of Monroe, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Lisa Bliss. Born in North Adams on Sept. 6, 1918, daughter of Arthur F. and Margaret Horrigan Davis, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former St. Joseph's School. She lived in Hollywood, Fla., from 1963 to 1968, and Bradenton, Fla., from 1971 to 1993, then returning to North Adams. Mrs. Parrott was last employed as a night auditor for the Ramada Inn in Sarasota, Fla., retiring in 1984. She also worked as a manager in the cocktail lounge for the former Tally House Restaurant in North Adams from 1968 to 1971. Earlier, she had worked for the former A&P and the First National Super Markets in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and past president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in North Adams. Her first husband, James Arthur Witherell, died in 1967. Her husband, Warren E. Parrott, died in 1990. She leaves four sons, James A. Witherell of Williamstown, Richard R. Witherell of Windsor, David C. Witherell of North Adams and Robert F. Witherell of Pierce, Ariz.; two sisters, Margaret M. Gagnier of Winter Park, Fla. and Ruth L. Arnold of Riverview, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion A. Weslowski.
