Published in Finger Lakes Times GENEVA - Robert J. DeRaddo, 71, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 26, 2009). In honoring Robert's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 5) at the Palmisano Funeral Home Inc. The burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in Robert's memory, may be directed to the Albany chapter of the Autism Society of America, 101 State St., Schenectady 12305, or the charity of one's choice. Robert was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Geneva, and was the son of the late Sullivan J. DeRaddo and Anna Marie (Crispo) DeRaddo Fitch. He was a graduate of DeSales High School, Class of 1957. After high school, Robert attended the Continental School of Beauty in Rochester. He then pursued a career as a hair stylist in Manhattan, where he lived and worked for over 40 years. In 2003, Robert returned to Geneva where he continued his career at Hair Magic. He enjoyed going out to dinner with his family and lifelong friends, to whom he was very loyal. Robert is survived by his niece, Sharon J. Cowan of Fairport; nephews, Sullivan C. (Pamela) DeRaddo of Seneca Castle and Michael P. (Debra) DeRaddo of Geneva; sister-in-law, Patricia A. DeRaddo of Geneva; great-niece and nephews, Daniel and Liam Cowan, Joseph and Katherine DeRaddo, Michael and Kevin DeRaddo; an uncle; and several cousins. From: marybutlermeyers.com Ruth E. Dillon Crosier, 91, of KCK was promoted to Glory on Sat, Dec. 17, 2016. Ruth was born to William and Muriel (Long) Dillon. As a woman, Ruth was a pioneer. She joined the United States Army Signal Corps at age 18 where she was assigned to study radio theory in N. Dakota. She was then transferred to the B25 plant in Fairfax, KS where she was a navigator and helped deliver the completed planes to Los Angeles. She also received a pilot's license. When Ruth was 23, she married Edwin Crosier from Metropolis, ILL. They started their family and Ruth went to KU where she received her Master's degree in education. She began teaching at Muncie Christian School and then taught in the Piper Unified School District, where she was also a principal. Upon retiring from Piper, she returned to Muncie where she taught higher level math and algebra classes. After retiring again, she started and operated her own successful business. From an early age, Ruth loved to design and create. Shortly after marriage, she drew up the blueprints for the family home. Having an intense desire to be an architect, she continued drawing house plans most of her life. Ruth is survived by her five adult children: Roy (Mary) Crosier of Warsaw, IN; Diann Crosier of KCK; Timothy Crosier of Meriden, KS; Lois Park of Gladstone, MO; and Sarah Crosier of Nashville, TN.; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers: David (Rosamary) Dillon, Paul (Connie) Dillon, and Raymond (Lydia) Dillon and their wives, and her sister Edith Dillon. Ruth also lost her husband Edwin Crosier and a great-grandson. Saturday, January 21st; Visitation at 1:30pm and Memorial service will follow at 2:00pm. Avondale Baptist Church, 2501 NE 39th St. KCMO 64116. The driveway to the church is located off of Parvin Rd. across from the fire station. |
