Published in Daily Hampshire Gazette on Aug. 20, 2016 MENA, Ark. - Joanne M. (Crochiere) Barber, 64, of Mena, passed away Friday, Aug.5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts,daughter of Elaine (Grandbois) Crochiere Mozden and the late Albert Crochiere of Becket, Massachusetts. She was educated in the local schools. Joanne earned her nursing degree through Berkshire Community College. Her nursing career began at the former Hillcrest Hospital, then on to a surgical nurse at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, in cancer research, forensics at Oregon State Hospital and Minnesota State Hospital. She married Lawrence Barber Oct. 29, 1983. They retired to Mena, about 10 years ago, where she enjoyed being a homemaker, her pets and she was particularly proud of the number of hummingbirds that chose her yard to call home each year. Joanne is survived by her loving husband Lawrence Barber of Mena; mother Elaine Mozden of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; sister Elisabeth Ahart and her husband Mark of Southampton, Massachusetts;brother George Crochiere and his wife Sarah of Becket, Massachusetts;nephews Kirk and Gavin Crochiere and Albert Ahart; niece Martha Ahart; and many relatives and friends. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m.at the St. Agnes Parish, 489 Main St., Dalton, Massachusetts,followed by a celebration of life at Noon at the Becket Federated Church, 3381 Main St., Becket, Massachusetts,in the Parish Hall. From: The Salem Press, April 24 1930 Willard Durkee, forty-two years of age, died at his home here last Thursday night after a short illness of double pneumonia. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 'oclock ffrom the United Presbyterian Church Rev. Lloyd H. Simpson, pastor officiating. Burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery, Argyle. Mr. Durkee was a well known farmer, and a trustee of the United Presbyterian church. He is survived by his widow, Emma Crosier Durkee, and two children, John and Helen Durkej one sister, Mrs. Wallace Labrosier of Durkeetown; two brothers, Clifford Durkee of Durkeetown andFrank Durkee of Geneva, Ohio, and by several Aunts and Uncles. |

Published in Albany Times Union Nov. 27, 2011 Washburn, Mary E. WATERVLIET Mary E. Washburn, 80, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born August 9, 1931 in Hebron, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late C. Lawton and Margaret (McComb) Crosier. She grew up in Hebron and attended Washington Academy in Salem, N.Y., graduating in 1949. Mary married her beloved husband, Elmer E. Washburn on February 9, 1951 in Salem and then moved to Latham as a newlywed, eventually settling in Watervliet. She was a contract mail carrier for many years and very proud of her driving record. She traveled through rural areas, often accompanied by her sleeping children in the early morning hours. Mary and her husband, Elmer enjoyed traveling to conventions of the National Star Route Mail Contractors Association, hosting the New York convention in Syracuse with her husband in 2003. Mary liked camping with her friends in Warrensburg after retirement, sitting around their fireplace in the company of neighbors and watching the fire and antics of hummingbirds in nearby feeders. Mary also enjoyed walking whenever she could, both at camp and in her neighborhood. She liked traveling whenever possible, but above all, she loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Frances Crosier. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Elmer E. Washburn. She is the devoted mother of Cynthia (David) Swota of Gansevoort, Donna (Randy) Morgan of Ballston Spa, J. Frank (Sandra) Washburn of Hoosick, Barry (Patricia) Washburn of Gansevoort and Andrew (Barbara) Washburn of Melrose. Also surviving are nine cherished grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Avenue). Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mary E. Washburn. |

Bruce was born in North Adams, MA on March 3, 1950 the son of Frederick and Lorraine (Foster) Marchegiani, attended schools in Williamstown, MA and earned his Associate Degree from Vermont Technical College. Bruce worked as a rabbit farmer for many years and in his earlier years marched with the Green Mountain Boys. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, woodworking and listening to country music. He enjoyed his home and spending time with his family. Bruce is survived by his wife the former Judith Crosier of Manchester, daughters April tam and her fiance Michael Bushee of Manchester, Tammy Decker and her husband Donald of Newton, Alabama and Shannon Morse and her husband John of Arlington, VT, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother David Marchegiani. SERVICES: Funeral services for Bruce will be held Friday September 8, 2017 at 2pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be private.
