HEBRON, N.Y. -- Josephine `Jo` A. Crosier, 62, died Friday, August 16, 1996 in St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT., after a long illness. She was a former resident of Hebron and had lived in Bridgeport since 1981. She was born in White Creek, March 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Hoard) Peters. She was a former employee of C.A. Baltz & Sons in Salem. Survivors include two sons, Randy Crosier of Valley Falls and Richard Crosier of Salem; two sisters, Annabelle Hansen of Buskirk and Elizabeth Bassett of Salem; four brothers, Chauncey Peters and Danny Peters, both of Shushan, Fred Peters of Eagle Bridge and William Peters of Johnsonville; nine grandchildlren, three step- grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Steven and Stanley Peters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, in the McClellan Funeral Home, East Broadway, Salem with the Rev. David Hall, officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge. Friends may call in the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that donations in her memory be made to the American Lung Association, 8 Mountain View Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12205-5055.

WHITEHALL, N.Y. - James Patrick Young, 65, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Granville, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Rosemary (Constant) Young.
He graduated from Whitehall High School.
He worked for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad in various locations, and retired after 30 years of service. He also bartended for many years in West Rutland, Vt.
He enjoyed gardening and humorous limericks.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen (Lynch) Young of Whitehall, whom he married on May 24, 1975; a daughter, Caitlin of Bohemia, N.Y.; a son, Jordan of Orlando, Fla.; a granddaughter; his siblings, Connie Crosier of Whitehall, Gail Camfield of Glens Falls, and Timothy Young of Mohrsville, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sam Young and Michael Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Skene Street, Whitehall, N.Y., with the Rev. Rendell Torres, pastor, officiating. A reception will follow at the family home on Carvers Falls Lane.
There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 9 Wheeler Ave., Whitehall, NY 12887; or High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 192, Fort Henry, NY 12974.

She also was a beautiful seamstress, a great baker and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel Young, Michael Young and James Young.
Survivors include her loving husband, Richard Camfield of Glens Falls; her daughter, Heather Harrington and her husband, Scott of Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Brett Harrington and Tess Harrington; a sister, Connie Crosier of Whitehall; a brother, Tim Young and his wife, Cathy of PA; two sisters in law, Maureen Young of Whitehall, Carol Young, also of Whitehall and Katherine Rielly and her husband, Mike of NJ; a brother in law, Peter Camfield and his wife, Ellen of Rochester; her cousins, Sarah Basta, Joe Sulllivan, Jerry Sullivan and John "Jack" Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Born April 11, 1949 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Charles and Doris (LaVoy) Camfield.
Richard attended St. Mary’s Academy and was a class of 1968 Glens Falls High School graduate. After high school, he attended BOCES where he obtained certification for sheet metal fabrication.
On June 29, 1981, he married Gail Marie Young in Glens Falls. They were married for 33 wonderful years until she passed away November 20, 2014.
Richard worked for Ames Goldsmith in Glens Falls, North East Heating Supply in Glens Falls and also Genesee Refrigeration.
He was a simple man but a hard worker and great provider who always put his family first. Richard was wonderful caring father and grandfather who loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Richard was predeceased by his grandmother, Ruby Morris, his aunt, who was like a second mother, Helene Sullivan Dever, and his brothers in law, Michael, James and Sam Young.
Survivors include his daughter, Heather Harrington and her husband, Scott of Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Brett Harrington and Tess Harrington; his sister, Katherine Rielly and her husband, Mike of NJ; his brother, Peter Camfield and his wife, Ellen of Rochester; his cousins, which he shared a home with growing up, Sarah Basta and her late husband, John, Joe Sulllivan and his wife, Nancy, Jerry Sullivan and John "Jack" Sullivan; his sisters in law, Connie Crosier of Whitehall, Maureen Young of Whitehall and Carol Young, also of Whitehall; his brother in law, Tim Young and his wife, Cathy of PA; his aunt, Marge Campfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There was a pretty and yet quiet home wedding at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Croshier near Wappingers Falls at 4 o’clock this afternoon, the principals in which were Miss Myra Croshier and Fred C, Shultz of New York,
Only the immediate relatives of the contracting couple were present. Rev. S. J. Douglas of Wappingers Falls was the officiating clergyman. The best man was B.Maar of New York and Miss Sadie Croshier,the bride’s sister acted as bridesmaid. John Hadden of Wappingers Falls performed the duties of usher.
Mr. and Mrs. Schultz will leave on the 7:15 train from New Hamburg tonight. After a wedding trip, they will take up their residence at 455 West Fortyseventh street.
Mr. Schultz is manager of a large livery stable in New York and is a very estimable gentleman.
Miss Croshier has been for a number of years connected with Smith Brothers’ establishment in this city and was universally popular with the firm, associates and patrons of the place. Among the many handsome presents-received by her was a valuable silver tea set from
the firm and employees of Smiths.

WARWICK- Bertrand Alva Ballou, 85, of Orange Road died peacefully Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Community Hospital of Monterey (CA) Peninsula.
He was born on July 14, 1931 in Springfield, Vermont to Grover Ballou and Beryl (Ballou) Day, both of whom predeceased him.
Bert grew up on a farm in Chester, Vermont and attended Chester Elementary School, later graduating from Chester High School.
He leaves a son, Gary Lee Ballou from his first marriage to Harriet Williams. Bert later moved to Orange, MA where he met his second wife, Virginia Ballou, whom he married on October 8, 1960. Having separated after 10 years of marriage, he then lived with Bev Rand until she passed away in 1983.
Bert is currently survived by Gail McCall with whom he had a long term relationship for the past 29 years. She had been caring for him in Warwick in his later years, until he moved in with his daughter, Celia Stauty de Luis in California. In the last months of his life, he got to see the redwoods for the first time and was happy to go for walks where he could see deer, or go to the ocean, which he loved, and could watch the seals. He enjoyed gardening, camping in Maine, South Athol church suppers, and telling stories about his uncle Roscoe whom he was quite fond of. He also enjoyed the family reunions he had held for a number of years at his home in Warwick. Bert was a hard worker and had worked as a machinist for Union Twist Drill.
Bert leaves behind five children from his second marriage, Celia Stauty de Luis, Pacific Grove, CA, Karen Clark, Orange, Tim Ballou of Montague, Bertrand Ballou Jr. Greenfield, and Darryl Ballou of Greenfield; six grandchildren Nathanael Stauty, Jonathan Stauty, Brian Clark, Kristie Howe, Brendan Clark, and Zoe Ballou; a brother, Grover "Bud" Ballou of Orange; two half brothers, John Ballou and Pete Ballou; a half sister, Pat Drown, all of New Hampshire.
Also predeceasing him were two brothers, Edmund Ballou and Clifford Ballou; a half brother, Pierre Ballou and step mother, Thelma Ballou.
A calling hour will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of the Orange Central Congregational Church officiating.
Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.
