Born in Middleburgh in 1914, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Vera Zeh Young. She was a graduate of Schoharie High School and attended Russell Sage College where she received her degree in education. She married her husband, Arthur Crosier on November 15, 1942. Mr. Crosier passed away on January 5, 1957. Rena retired as a fifth grade teacher from the Duanesburg School system in 1974. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Duanesburg. Rena enjoyed quilting, sewing, shopping and was an avid traveler and loved to cook and spending time in her garden. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Bruce) Smith of Duanesburg; granddaughter, Lindsey Smith of Duanesburg; grandson, Daniel (Jayne) Smith of Livingston Manor and granddaughter, Denise (Michael) Will of Roscoe, NY and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Dylan Smith of Livingston Manor, NY. Rena was also predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Crosier, and two sisters, Dorothy Consiglio and Hilda Zahielski. Crosier, 57, driving force behind obtaining the VA Hospital icre, who was a native of Pownal, Vt, collapsed in his real estate office here and died Oct. 12 shortly afler 2 p.m. Death was due to a coronary attack. Mr. Crosier had been a resident of Brockton for 37 yeors. After coming to Brockton, he became associated with a life insurance company as general field clerk an was promoted to an inspector's position, covering the New England territory. Later he was made supervision of the agents' daily accounting plan and then elevated to agency supervisor. Born in Pownal, he was the son of the late Marshall A. and Mary E. Lacy Crosier. He was educated in North Adams schools before going to Columbia Military Col lege in Tennessee. He attended William and Mary College and was a football player of much prowess. Mr. Crosier was the motivating force behind the committee that succeeded in bringing the hospital here and spent a great deal of time and money pulling the plan across. He was presented a plaque in 1951 by Brockton Chapter, DAV at a testimonial dinner for his work. Congressman James A. Burke said: "I was shocked to hear of the untimely death of Everett E. Crosier. I had lunch with him last Thursday at which lime we discussed many of the problems confronting the city of Brockton. His untiring efforts on behalf of all the people of Brockton over the year were many. Brockton has lost a dear and devoted friend. ' Mr. Croshier, who lived in the Town of Poughkeepsle, began working with the company in 1930 when it was located in a barn on North Clinton Street He was involved in product design and helped garner the company three Army and Navy awards for the production of munition primers and croshier aircraft parts during World War 11 He eventually became a department manager and retired May 17, 1970. In 1950 he helped found the Old Timers Club and was elected its first vice president He was a former member of the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club, a charter member of the Dutchess County Pistol Association and a member of the Crestwood Heights Taxpayers Association. Mr. Croshier was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Town of Poughkeepsie. He was born in Chatham, N.J., Dec. 8, 1902, to Ralph and Mary Ann Schmidt Croshier. He attended Wappingers Falls schools. In 1926, in Wappingers Falls, he married the former Catherine Belding, who died in 1971. Mr. Croshier is survived by a son, Joseph E. Croshier, of Poughkeepsie; a daughter, Kathleen Turner of Poughkeepsie; a sister, Madeline Croshier of Wappingers Falls; seven grandchildren, two great - grandchildrengrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Croshier, 80, of 379 East St., Providence Court Apartments in Pittsfield, died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on June 13, 1929, in Pittsfield, son of the late Darryl and Frances Gedney Croshier, he was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and was educated in Pittsfield schools. He served with the Navy aboard the USS Paiute. He married his wife, the former Phyllis Hodlin, on Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Mark Church in Pittsfield. She died on May 11, 1995. Mr. Croshier was employed as an assembler at the former E.D. Jones and Beloit Corporation in Dalton for over forty years. He retired in 1988. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. A longtime baseball fan, he enjoyed attending all of the Pittsfield Mets games at Wahconah Park. He also followed the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. While at Providence Court he enjoyed playing cards with all of his friends and neighbors. He leaves three sons, Joseph F. Croshier and his wife, Mary Rose, of Pittsfield, George W. Croshier and his wife, Linda, of Pittsfield, and Kenneth R. Croshier and his wife, Kelly, of the State of Florida; three daughters, Lisa M. Croshier and her husband, Shawn Maloney, of Pittsfield, Teresa M. Croshier and her husband, John Strzempko, of Ashburnham, Mass., and Sharon M. Croshier of Pittsfield. He also leaves a brother, Darryl Croshier of Gt. In addition to raising her two children, she was a former secretary for the Hughsonville Fire Department, a regular poll worker and a former member of the Wappingers Falls Republican Club. Most recently, she was a court clerk for Town of Wappinger Justice Court, until her retirement. In her spare time, Eleanor was an avid bingo player and loved to shop the flea markets. She was also a devoted congregant of the United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls. Survivors include her daughters, Diane M. Williams and her companion, Uriel Richardson of Poughkeepsie, and Susan L.
