MONMOUTH - Stanley A. Bowles, 91, Monmouth, died at 4:47 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 3, 2006) at home.
He was born July 19, 1915, in Monmouth, the son of Otho B. and Edna C. Crosier Bowles.
He married Laura E. Bycroft on Nov. 10, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. She died Jan. 27, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (and Sandra) Bowles, Aurora, and Kenneth Bowles, Coal Valley; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He was raised and educated in Roseville, graduating from Roseville High School in 1933.
He served in the Army during World War II from March 1942 until November 1945.
He was a storekeeper at Monmouth College for 20 years, retiring in 1983.
He was of Methodist faith.
He enjoyed traveling and piloting ultralight planes, flying until 1999.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Friends may call Thursday morning until the service at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel; family will not be present.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Edwin R. Sprague A former North Adams resident collapsed while cutting roadside birush in Windsor yesterday afternoon and died in the ambulance en route to Pittsfield General Hospital. Edwin Russell Sprague, 49, of School House Bush Rd,, Windsor was working with a road crew when stricken. He had lived on Walnut St. here before moving to Windsor nine years ago. He was born in North, Adams son of Harry and the late Nellie (Crozier) Sprague. He had worked for General Eleclric in Pittsfield and Schenecdy, N. Y., and as a weaver in Dalton mill. Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Byron; five children, Edwin H. Jr. of Windsor, Mrs Constance Bifd of Windsor, Mrs. Nancy O'Neil, Kenneth and Donna Sprague, all of North Adams; also seven stepchildren, Mrs. Vina Ferris,' Horace Greenlaw, Frederick Greenlaw,. Miss Jean Strack, John Strack, all of North Adams, Harry Greenlaw of the State of Florida, and Miss Rose Marie Strack of Windsor; and 13 grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at the San Soucie Funeral Home Monday nt 11 a, m., with the Rev. Alfred B. Perry,. pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Soulhview Cemetery. Calling hours at the. funeral home are from 2 to 4 and 7 tct,9 tomorrow. .

REV. H ALBERT H. CROSIER TO BE BURIED TOMORROW.
Services Will Be at Sunnjside Cburch Life Record Is That of Prohibitionist.
Rev. Halbert H. Crosier, a well known and much-loved minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, whs retired from active duty in 1870, when he left the central Illinois conference, where his active work in the pulpit was done, died November 24 at the family residence, 94 East Thirty-fifth
street. Funeral services will be held in Sunny side church, where he has long been a member, tomorrow at 1:30 P. M. Services at the grave will be private.
Ail his life he had been an ardent and enthusiastic worker for prohibi tion, and when that object was accomplished he was greatly pleased. He was active in the work of his church and had a wide circle of friends. He never transferred his connection with the central Illinios conference, being a member of it at the time of his death.
He was born in Somerset, Vt.,

Marguerite Beatrice Field Gould, 87, of 1322 Massachusetts Ave. died Saturday at the Williamstown Commons.
Born in Somerville on Sept. 10, 1916, daughter of John Alexander and Mabel Agnes Muggah Carey, she attended schools in Somer-ville and graduated from Somerville High School.
She also completed several courses in nursing.
She moved to North Adams when she was in her early 20s and was self-employed as a private home health care provider. She was also employed at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates, Greylock division, and in the offices of James Hunter Machine Co.
She was primarily a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved to sit on her porch knitting and cross-stitching, and she enjoyed staying in her home in Pompano Beach, Fla., where she lived during the winter for more than 13 years.
Her first husband, Floyd Herbert Field, died July 30, 1967.
Her husband, Philip Gould, died Nov. 1, 1977.
She leaves one son, John Stewart Field of the town of Florida; three daughters, Marguerite "Peggy" Slade of Clarks-burg, Jo Ann Lalonde of Boca Raton, Fla., and Kathleen Crawford of Danbury, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Private funeral services for Marguerite Beatrice Carey Field Gould will take place at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. Burial will take place in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.

Floyd H. Field, 58, Dies Unexpectedly
Floyd Herbert Field, 58, of 1322 Massachusetts Ave., died unexpectedly about 8.30 yesterday morning in his car which was in front of the Texan Restaurant on Curran Highway. Dr. George T. Mullen, Northern Berkshire medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes. A native of North Adams, Mr. Field was the son of the late Albert and Agnes (Crosier) Field. He had attended local schools and had been employed for more lhan 25 years by the Massachusetts Electric Co. He was a member of the company's Wana Club and the First Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, the former Marguerite B. Carey; four daughters
Mrs. Frank Holcomb of Amherst, Mrs. John Slade of Lanesboro, Mrs. Michael Ouellette and Mrs. Foster Crawford of North Adams; two sons, Allen and John Field, both of this city; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Frank Field of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Rennell of Northampton and Mrs. William Wise of Largo, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Another brother, Arthur, died Jan. l, 1959.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p,m., in the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. Grover C. Rieger, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at the Flynn Roach Funeral Home will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., today and Tuesday.

Brattleboro Woman In Crosier House at Time Blaze Broke Out.
Damage of about $500 was caused by a fire in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crosier in Readsboro, Vt., Mon day night. Mr. and Mrs. Crosier had spent the day at Sherman's, two miles away, Mrs. Crosier remaining there for the night. Mr. Crosier went home and
built a Fire in the living room stove, and then went to the moving pictures. Some time later, Philip Barro, in passing, saw flames through the window and turned in an alarm. Owing to the fact that Mr. Crosier had closed all doors leading to the living room, the fire was confined to that room in which every thing was destroyed. The loss is covered by insurance.
Mr. and Mrs. Reed, parents of Mrs. Walter Sturges of Brattloboro, live in an apartment in the Crosier house, and Mrs. Sturges was with them for a holiday visit at the time the fire broke out.
