          BOMOSEEN - John G. Povey, 23, died unexpectedly at his residence, Monday, December 9, 2013.
          He was born June 17, 1990, in Nashua, N.H., the son of Gregory Povey and Martha Crozier-Povey.
          He was a graduate of Fair Haven Union High School Class of 2008.
          John owned and operated Povey Painting in Castleton.
          He enjoyed snowboarding and skiing and being a musician. He was much loved by his family.
          He is survived by his father, Gregory Povey of Bomoseen; his mother, Martha Crozier-Povey of Castleton; by his sisters, Maya L. Povey of Castleton and Kaitlyn Povey and her son Jah-Dai Povey of Wolcott, Vt.; by his maternal grandmother, Mary-Lou Crozier of Lyndeborough, N.H.; by his god mother, Donna St. Germain, also of Lyndeborough; by his uncle, Jay Povey and his wife Patricia of Hampstead, N.H.; by his aunt, Ginnie Plourde and her husband Jim of Greenfield, N.H.; also by numerous cousins and friends.
          He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, David and Nancy Walsh, and an uncle, Scott Crozier.
          A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 1939 Main St., Castleton. The Rev. Elsworth Comins will officiate.
          Visiting hours for family and friends will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 5 p.m.
          Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice .

          NORTH BENNINGTON -- The liturgy of Christian burial for John R. Powers was celebrated Saturday afternoon at St. John the Baptist Church. The mass was con-celebrated by the Rev. Edward Howard, S.J., pastor, and former pastor the Rev. Michael A. DeMasi. Assisting on the altar and crucifer was Ivan Matt.
          At the entrance of the church a wooden cross was placed upon the caste by Mr. Powers’ cousin Arla Sampsell. The testament readings and responsorial was read by Ernest Baron. The gospel reading was read by the Rev. DeMasi. During the homily, the Rev. DeMasi reflected upon Mr. Powers’ virtue of faith and wisdom, and his contributions to his country, church and the Village of North Bennington. The Rev. Howard offered personal reflections and memories of Mr. Powers.
          The gifts were presented to the altar by Charles Cole and Joseph and Theresa DeMasi. Music for the service was provided by organist Louise Gauthier who accompanied soloist Mildred Pierce. Special musical selections included “On Eagles’ Wings,” “Parable,” “The Supper of the Lord” and “How Great Thou Art.” Serving as bearers were members of American Legion Post 13: Commander Patrick Moore, Commander Department of Vermont Ralph Brown, Chaplain John Welch, Ken Lorrette, Ken Coonradt, Joseph Krawczyk and Michael Krizan.
          Burial followed in the Powers family lot in St. John’s Cemetery with the Rev. Howard and Rev. DeMasi offering the committal prayers.
          The American flag draping the casket of the World War II Navy veteran was folded by Joseph Krawczyk and Ralph Brown and presented to Mrs. Sampsell by Mr. Brown. The taps and echo were sounded by Maurice Rancourt.
          A prayer service preceded the funeral mass at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
          Mr. Powers, 82, known as “Gooley” and a resident of Sage Street, died April 20, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home.
          Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.

Price of Fitchburg, MA and Raymond A. Price, Jr. of Nashua, NH; sister, Vida M. Waller of Lunenburg, MA and his former wife, Nadine (Cookman) Martel also of Fitchburg. In accordance with his wishes his ashes will be scattered over the waters of Ft. Lauderdale. Arrangements by BAIRD-CASE ALL BROWARD CREMATION AND BURIAL SERVICE.

Lunenburg- Vida M. (Price) Waller, 86 of Nashua N.H., long time former resident of Lunenburg died Sunday, March 8th in St. Joseph’s Hospital Nashua. She was predeceased by her husband Chester Waller.
          Mrs. Waller was born October 5, 1922 in Lunenburg daughter of Ralph and Myrtie (Crosier) Price and had lived in Lunenburg her whole life until moving to Nashua two years ago. She was a graduate of Lunenburg High School, class of 1940, a member of Lunenburg United Parish and the Lunenburg Woman’s Club.
          During the World War II years she supported the War effort working for General Electric Co in Fitchburg.
          Mrs. Waller leaves her brother Harvey Price of Lunenburg and several nieces and nephews. A brother Raymond Price died in 1995.
          A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 12th at 12 noon in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St. Fitchburg with Rev Andrew Burr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 10:30 until 12 noon in the funeral home.

          Irene was born in Springfield, the daughter of Angelo and Grace (Manning) Rancatti and lived in the area many years.
          She graduated from Van Sickle High School. She retired from Diamond International.
          She enjoyed painting and ceramics.
          Her funeral will be held at 8:00PM, Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. A calling hour will be held from 7:00PM to 8:00PM prior to the service.

Mr. Rapacki was an active member of the Army and Air National Guard of Connecticut from 1953 until 1963. Charles was a former communicant of St. Joseph Church in Suffield, he was retired chairman of the Architectural Review Board for Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht Club. Charles is survived by two brothers Stanley Rapacki of Westbrook, and Walter J. Rapacki and his wife Mary, of Southwick MA, many Nieces, Nephews, Grandnieces, Grandnephews and friends. He was predeceased by three sisters, Jean Crosier, Helen Budka, and Virginia Rodean. A Memorial funeral service will be Sat. Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church Suffield. Jean was employed by the Institute of Living, Hartford Hospital, and Medical Pool Personnel prior to her retirement. Funeral services and internment at Cedar Hill Cemetery will be private. Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jean will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched with her generosity and spirit.           Reception In Garden:
          A garden reception at the San Mateo home of the bridegroom's parents, the Lewis W. Roes, followed the recent marriage of Sara Jane Rawcliffe and Robert Lewis Roe. The couple received in a background of green and white bells and bows. Sally, as the bride is known, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shaw Rawcliffe. The Episcopal Church of St. Matthew was the setting for the afternoon ceremony, which was conducted by the Rev. Lesley Wilder. For her wedding. Sally wore a short gown of white lace. A cummerbund of white satin piping edged the tiny sleeves and scoop neckline. Sally's shoulder length veil was held in place by a crown cap dotted with pearls. She carried an arrangement of lily of the valley, stephanotis, and gardenia buds on a white prayer book. Powder blue silk organza was worn by the three attendants who preceded the bride to the altar. Sally's longtime friend and classmate Myrtle Greenhill was the maid of honor. Bridesmaid duties were shared by Sally's sister, Joan Shaw Rawcliffe, and Robert's sister, Pat Roe. The girls carried crescent shaped bouquets of elegance carnations. Robert's Stanford university classmate, Lloyd Douglas Clark of Ventura was best man. Ushering roles were taken by Donald N. Irani and Richard A. Harris. After a Carmel honeymoon, the justweds will live in San Jose. Robert, a graduate of San Mateo High school, is now attending Stanford.
