Survivors include a son, Samuel Garofalo and his companion Claudia Johnson of Heath; daughters, Julia Fiske of Shelburne and Elizabeth Garofalo and her husband Michael Ekblom of Greenfield; seven grandchildren: Liam and Maeve Fiske-Mercer, Enzo, Holden and Winter Garofalo, Isabella and Delia Ekblom; a brother, Joel Garofalo of Charlemont; sisters, Judith Garofalo of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Janet Ferro of Framingham, MA; former wives, Mary Fiske and Mary Anderson; aunt, Esther LaPierre, and several cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Jan. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. Born Oct. 22, 1978, in Exeter, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Carl H. George Jr. of Jackson and the late Carolyn Henecke George. Tanya was a 1997 graduate of Salem Washington Academy, attended SUNY Cortland for a year and finished college at Adirondack Community College. While attending college, Tanya worked at Munchkin Land Daycare in Salem and then began her career with the Washington County Department of Social Services, where she worked for the past 12 years and was a supervisor. Tanya was a member of the Salem Central School PTA, assisted her husband in coaching T-ball and volunteered for breast cancer walks and for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer. Tanya enjoyed camping, exercising, shopping, sports and, most importantly, she enjoyed being with her children and family. Tanya looked forward to vacationing each year at Old Orchard, Maine, which she and her family did for the past 10 years. Tanya was an animal lover and loved her dog, Hudson. Tanya attended West Hebron and Salem United Methodist churches. In addition to her mother, Tanya was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Carl and Joanne George; and maternal grandfather, Harlan Henecke. Tanya is survived by her husband, Jeffrey S. Crosier Jr.; twin daughters, Kady and Olivia Crosier; and a son, Jeffrey S. Crosier III, all of Hebron; her father, Carl H. George Jr. of Jackson; her father- and mother-in-law, Jeffrey and Karen Crosier of West Hebron; a brother, Carl H. George III and his wife, Starlene, of Jackson; her maternal grandmother, Hanna Laura Henecke of Venice, Florida; a nephew, Carl H. George IV of Jackson; her brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Deb Bishop of Hebron; a special childhood friend, Angie Griffis of Shaftsbury, Vermont; and her husband Jeff’s family, with whom she was very close, Betty and Glenn Crosier of Hebron and Lyle and Beverly Crosier of Hebron. (Giard) Lively, 91, of Williston, VT and formerly of Easthampton, died peacefully at the Vermont Respite House in Colchester, VT on September 29. She was born in Colrain, MA, March 4, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Melvina (Chagnon) Giard. Germaine married Claude Lively of Heath, MA and later moved to Easthampton, MA where they raised six sons. She moved to Williston in 2010. Her husband predeceased her on June 7, 1999. Germaine will always be remembered for the love and joy she brought to her own children as well as the several children she fostered throughout the years. She touched everybody and loved gardening and playing cribbage and animals of all kinds. Her deep faith carried her through this last brief illness. She is survived by her sons Jamie, Jude, Jason and Juddson Lively; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her sons Joseph and John; brothers Joseph (Louis) Giard, Emile, David and Victor Giard; sisters Theresa (Giard) Shippee and Alice (Giard) Gilbert. A special thank you goes to Germaine's close friend, Patti. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls with Rev. Joseph Lively, (Germaine's brother-in-law) officiating.
