From: Burlington Free Press Obituaries 08/2000 LONIE BLANCHE (FOSS) GRAVES WOLCOTT - Lonie Blanche (Foss) Graves, 91, passed away peacefully in the Morrisville Center of Genesis Eldercare on Wednesday afternoon, August 23, 2000. She was born in Wolcott on June 5, 1909, the daughter of the late Emery John and Eva (Kinney) Foss. She married Ralph Everton Graves on June 5, 1929. He predeceased her in August of 1970. In between, she found time to make boiled dinners, pies, donuts, and ""fee-fees". In later life, she spent many happy hours playing bingo. Lonie spent several winters in Florida, doing all the driving down and back, completing her last trip at the age of 85. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She is survived by two sons, Everton Ralph and his wife, Marjorie, of Wolcott, and Adair Alan and his wife, Dorothy of East Montpelier; a very special niece, Marlene (Sabin) Manosh, of Morrisville; her sister, Margaret Hale of Hyde Park; her brother, Emery Frank Foss of Morrisville; ten grandchildren, Steven Graves of Fairfax, Mitchell Graves and wife, Deborah of Calais, Curtis Graves and wife, Mary Kay of Middlesex, Kevin Graves and wife, Joyce, of Singapore, Debbie Bartsch Wagner of Morrisville, David Bartsch of Middleton, N.H., Dennis Bartsch and wife, Patti, of Tunkhannock, Penn., Darren Bartsch of St. Albans, Donna Bartsch Godin and husband, Denis of Franklin, Vt., and Devin Graves and wife, Rita of North Hyde Park, Vt.; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Hester Audrey (Graves) Bartsch and Linda Graves; two sisters, Helen (Foss) Allaire and Marion (Foss) Hurst; three brothers, Warren Edson Foss, W. John Foss, and Edson Kinney Foss; and a special niece, Mary (Sabin) Jewett. immigrated to Plymouth, Mass. on the Ship Mayflower from mayflowerhistory.com Edward Fuller has been generally identified as the son of Robert and Sara (Dunkhorn) Fuller, baptized on 4 September 1575 at Redenhall, Norfolk. Thomas Morton, writing in 1637, says that Samuel Fuller (brother of Edward Fuller) was the son of a butcher. The name Matthew also occurs in this Redenhall Fuller family. The name of Edward Fuller's wife has not been discovered. In James Savage's Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England (1860-1862), Edward Fuller's wife was given as "Ann". However, there are no American or English records which give her name. I suspect James Savage may have made a simple typographical error: Mayflower passenger Edward Tilley had a wife Ann; or perhaps he was thinking of their sister Ann Fuller. Nonetheless, numerous sources published after 1860 have utilized Savage's Genealogical Dictionary, and so the identification of Ann can be found in numerous other books and online resources. Very little is known about Edward Fuller. What is known is that he, his wife, and his son Samuel came on the Mayflower in 1620 to Plymouth. An older brother, Matthew, had stayed behind, and came to America later. |
