Elinor Marie Zagorski, 79, of 58 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Monday at Williamstown Commons.
Born in North Adams on Nov. 26, 1922, daughter of George H. and Gladys Palmer Whipple, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Zagorski was employed by New England Telephone Co. for 15 years and, before her retirement in 1986, she was employed by Sprague Electric Co. for 20 years.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the Sprague Retirees.
Her husband, Sylvester "Cy" Zagorski, whom she married April 1, 1940, died Nov. 23, 1979.
She leaves three daughters, Mary Ann DeMarsico of Adams, Rose Marie Wuterich of Meriden, Conn., and Susan Walsh of Salem, N.H.; a sister, Margery Blair of Lady Lake, Fla.; a brother, George H. Whipple Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Joseph DAVENPORT was born on August 10, 1747 in Dorchester, Suffolk,
Massachusetts.99 He died on April 14, 1821 in Colrain, Franklin,

The genealogy of the family before Joseph is given in The Davenport Family
by Bennett F. Davenport, M.D. in N.E.H. & G. Register pp. 25-34 of the year
1879.
Joseph was a soldier of the Revolution, probably from Dorchester. In
November of 1780/1 they came to Colrain, traveling by ox-led with five
children. A story handed down in the family for generations recounts how the
youngest child, Stephen, snugly wrapped in a blanket, rolled off the sled, en
route, unnoticed by the rest of the family who preceded on their way. A
doctor, name unknown, who was following on horseback at the some distance,
found the bundle in the road, and hastening on, returned young Stephen to his
family who evidently had not yet missed him.
Joseph built a log house on Cary Brook, a tributary of the West Branch,
about a half mile above Griswoldville, and here the family, or some members
of it, lived for over a hundred years in the same house which was gradually
enlarged nd modernized. He was married to Mary WHITE on December 6, 1770 in
Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts.101,102
41. Mary WHITE was born on May 24, 1747 in Dorchester, Suffolk,
Massachusetts.103 She died on February 22, 1817 in Colrain, Franklin,
Massachusetts.104 Joseph DAVENPORT and Mary WHITE had the following
children:
i. Joseph DAVENPORT was born on July 11, 1771 in Dorchester,
Suffolk, Massachusetts.105
ii. John DAVENPORT was born on February 17, 1773 in Dorchester,
Suffolk, Massachusetts.106

iv. Jason DAVENPORT was born on March 21, 1776 in Dorchester,

BETTY M (WHITNEY) BOLOGNANI, of Readsboro, VT died November 1, 2016 at age 90. She was born in Stamford, VT on February 23, 1926 a daughter to the late Ira and Anna Whitney. Betty married James A. Bolognani in 1950 and had eleven children. Together they ran the Readsboro Inn and Jerry’s Hardware. She was very active in her community serving on the school board, St. Ann’s Society, 4-H Club, VT State Representative, VT Veteran’s Home Board, Readsboro Historical Society, Readsboro Redevelopment Committee, County Democratic Committee, Bennington/Rutland Opportunity Council, UVM Cooperative Extension Youth Agent, Readsboro Cemetery Commission and as a Justice of the Peace.
She is survived by her children and their spouses - Sue and Ted Irle of Wisconsin, Nancy and Joe Hudson of Michigan, Anna Bolognani of Readsboro, Lee and Diane Bolognani of Readsboro, Cindy and Bill McKenna of Alaska, Jon and Rita Bolognani of Readsboro, Dan and Wendy (Ames) Bolognani of Connecticut, Ted and Laurie Bolognani of New Hampshire, Judy and Rick Trow of New Hampshire, Heidi and Bill Donath of Florida and Debbie Bolognani of Whitingham, VT. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, son, Tim, and granddaughter, Jessica as well as her parents, Ira and Anna Whitney and three siblings.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim’s Church in Readsboro, VT on Wednesday, November 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours. MRS W. F. MIXER DIES.
End Came Aprll 7 After lllness of Many Months-
Was Active Worker in Fraternal Organizations.
Mrs. Diantha S. (Wliitney) Mixer, wife of William F. Mixer of 107 Western avenue, died about 8 p. m. Thursday, April 7, in the Memorial hospital. She had been in failing health the past two years.
She was born in Halifax Aug. 11, 1855, a daughter of Joseph G. and Samantlia (Danion) Whiitney. On April 6, 1875, she married Mr. Mixer at Brattleboro. Three children were born to them, Walter W., Julius and Leon F.
Mrs. Mixer united with the First Baptist church Feb. 6. 1870. She also was a member of the W. C. T. U., Binghiam chapter, O. E. S Protective Grnnge, and the New England Order of Protection, and took an active part in the work of each when health permitted, She was of a kind anidhospitable disposition and bore her suffering with great patience and courage, always having a cheerful word for every one.
Besides her husband she leaves one son, Leon F., two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Covey of West Brattleboro and Mrs. Allce Covey of Boston, and two half brothers. Dana I., and Louis A, Hownrd of Brattleboro .
The funeral was held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist church, Rev. Clark T. Brownell, pastor of the church, offciatiing. Ernest V. Barre sang The Homeland, and Take Heart, Ye Weary, Delegations were present from Bingham chapter. O. E. S. Brattleboro Iodge. N. E. O. P.. Proteclive Grange and class No. 10 of the Baptist Bible school. There were many beautiful flowers. The burial took place in Meeting House Hill cemetery. The bearers were I. G. Crosier, E. C. Tenney, J. H. Britton and D. I. Howard
Those who came from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Bennett and Mrs. E. E, Whlpple of Warwick, Mass., Mrs. Walter Kingsbury of Athol, Mass., Mrs. Sarah Spears of Auburn , Mass., Mrs. J. P. Spears, Dorman Spears, and Miss. Grace E. Spears of Worcester, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Britton and Andrew Hildreth of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Nellie Pierce of Wllimantic, Conn., Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gould of Greenfield, Mass., and Leslie Gould of Readsboro, Vermont
