          Phillip S. "Pete" Sprague passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT where he had been a resident for the past 16 years.
          Born in Readsboro, VT on May 1, 1936, he was educated in Readsboro, VT and spent his life at the family farm in Readsboro with his parents, doing what he loved. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He liked reading farm journals and took a particular interest in the farm's tractors, which he was very proud of operating and maintaining. Pete also owned and operated his own trucking business for many years.
          Pete was predeceased by his parents, Blanche Reynolds Sprague and Vernon Sprague, and two brothers, Preston and Gilbert Sprague. He is survived by his brother, Marshall Sprague and his wife, Lucille of Readsboro, his sister, Thelma Hover of Stockbridge, MA, his sister-in-law, Gertrude "Betty" Sprague of Readsboro, as well as many nieces and nephews.
          The family would like to thank the staff of the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT where he received kind and thoughtful care.
          SERVICES: A graveside burial service will be held in the spring at a date to be determined at North Hill Cemetery in Readsboro, VT.

          Preston R. Sprague, 86, a resident of Tunnel Street passed away Jan. 4, 2015 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, with peace and dignity, his family at his side. Preston was born at his grandparents house in Whitingham, Vt. on Mar. 5, 1928 the son of Vernon and Blanche (Reynolds) Sprague. He was raised on their farm on North Hill in Readsboro and attended the local school. Preston served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII and upon his discharge worked as a truck driver for many years. Preston enjoyed gardening, cooking, brewing his own beer and making wine. He was a big history buff, enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to sing and play guitar and cards. Preston enjoyed being with his friends and spending time with his family. He was very proud to call his daughter, Nicki, his best friend and was proud and happy to see his granddaughter, Taylor begin her college career. He was loved by many and we will celebrate his life and love always. Preston is survived by his wife, the former Frances Tower of Readsboro, children; Stephen Sprague of Brunswick, Maine, Michael Comai of Bennington, Marsha Morgan of Vancouver, Canada, Geraldine Smith of Englewood, Fla., Patricia Edwards of Englewood, Fla., Marcia Bisson of Fla., Jody Parsons and Diedra Moore both of Wilmington, Dean Sprague of Bowdoin, Maine and Nicki Sprague of Readsboro, brothers; Marshall Sprague of Readsboro and Phillip Sprague of Bennington, sister, Thelma Hoover of Stockbridge, Mass. and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Hughes who died in 1965 and his brother, Gilbert Sprague. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Preston will be held Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, Vermont. Interment will be held in the spring in Village Cemetery in Readsboro. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 from 3 to 4 p.m., one hour prior to the service.           Lester L. Crosier, 88, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Monday evening, December 19, 2005, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, after a short illness.
          A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 23, 2005, at the Golden Congregational Church, rural Ryan, Iowa. Friends may call an hour before the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Upper Bay Cemetery in rural Delhi.
          The Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
          Lester was born February 8, 1917, in Central City, Iowa, the son of Roy S. & Julia Leah (Revell) Crosier. At the age of 4, Lester moved with his family from Manchester to the family farm in the Upper Bay area. He attended the Upper Bay School. He continued to help on the family farm until moving to Manchester. Lester moved to the Penn Center at Delhi and later to the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood.
          Lester was a member of the Golden Congregational Church in rural Ryan, Iowa.
          Lester is survived by a sister, Dorothea Daniels of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a niece, Patricia Henrich of Lansing, Michigan; and many great-nieces and nephews.
          Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Roy S. & Julia Crosier; a sister, Phyllis Crosier; a brother-in-law, Earl Daniels; and a nephew, David Daniels.

          Phyllis was born January 28, 1924, in rural Delhi, Milo Township, Iowa, the daughter of Roy S. & Julia Leah (Revell) Crosier. She received her education in the Upper Bay country school and graduated from the Delhi High School in 1941. When in high school, Phyllis wrote a short story that was published in local papers. Phyllis attended Lennox College in Hopkinton and obtained a business degree. While there, she wrote the song "Nellie,? which was copy written. She then helped on the family farm. After her father passed away in 1949, Phyllis stayed with her mother on the farm until 1961 when they moved to Manchester. In February of 2003, Phyllis moved into the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
          Phyllis was a member of the Golden Congregational Church in Ryan where she also taught Bible school. She was a member of the Women?s Club of Manchester. She enjoyed doll collecting and gardening.
          Phyllis is survived by her sister, Dorothea Daniels of Cedar Rapids; her brother Lester Crosier at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood; and niece and nephew, Patricia Henrich and David Daniels.
          Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Roy S. & Julia Crosier.

          Virginia Crosier Gardner, 80, of Garman Road in Akron, died Wednesday at Rockynol Retirement Center.
          She was preceded in death by her husbands, Staley J. Crosier and Sherman O. Gardner. Survivors include three sons and one daughter, Donald (Car men) Crosier of Akron, David and Daniel Crosier, and Diane Morris.

          Oxford - Alfred E. Wandrei, 90, passed away at his home in Oxford on 29 January 2016.
          A resident of Oxford since 1950, Al was the son of the late John and Bertha (Herzig) Wandrei of Adams.
          He was married to the late Ruth (Dimock) Wandrei with whom he celebrated their 66th anniversary shortly before her passing in August 2015. He is survived by their daughter Joan and her husband Harry Gong of Chelmsford; son David and his wife Phyllis of Sterling; son Steven of Oxford; granddaughter Emily and her fiancé David; and grandson Brian and his wife Kyle. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by their son James. Al also leaves three siblings: John of Vermont, Dot Malloy of Adams, and Bob of Virginia. He was predeceased by his brother Bill of Adams
          Al served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Worcester State University, and Worcester Polytechnic University. He taught for many years at Oxford High School, subsequently moving to the then newly established Quinsigamond Community College where he taught until retirement. He was happiest working in his garden, tending to his bees, and cheering on Oxford’s own Punkin Chunkin team, Team Hurling Chunks.
          At his request all services will be private; his body was donated to the UMass Medical School Anatomical Gift program.           She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard; a son, Rick (Renee) Campbell of Rochester; a daughter, Amy Pollino of Geneva; two grandchildren, Joshua Pollino and Matthew Campbell; sisters, Sally (Spencer Westfall) Tomion of Geneva, Linda (Richard) Myer of Geneva and Nancy Crosier of Geneva; sister-in-laws, Loretta (William) Fryer of Geneva, Cynthia (Robert) Depew of Geneva; brother-in-law, Robert (Mary Lou) Campbell of Geneva; very good friend, Patricia Hosking of Geneva; special pal, her cat Mikey; several nieces and nephews.

          Alexander T. “ Pula “ Rogalski, Jr., 66, of 4 Victory St. Adams, died Thursday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital.
          He was born in Adams on December 20, 1938, a son of the late Alexander and Stella (Pytko) Rogalski. He graduated from St. Stanislaus Kostka Elementary School and then the former Adams High School in 1956.
          He served with the US Navy from 1959 until his Honorable Discharge in 1963.
          Mr. Rogalski last worked for the Town of Adams for 17 years, first for 15 years at the landfill operation, and then for two years at the Highway department. He retired in 1996. Earlier, he had worked for Warner Bros. Construction, and also for Petricca Construction.
          He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, Adams Post 160 American Legion, the Polish National Alliance, the Adams Lodge of Elks, the Mountain Club and the Adams Hound & Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushrooming.
          He is survived by his longtime companion, Peggy Stefanski, of Adams;

          He was predeceased by a sister, Alexandria “Sandy” Brown, and a half sister, Phyllis Poplaski.
          The funeral will be held on Monday, June 20th, at 9:00 AM from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams.
          Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.

          Frederick Thomas Kelley, Retired Foreign Service Officer, died August 3rd, 2017, of heart failure. Kelley was born December 21, 1931 in Pittsfield, MA, the seventh of eight children. Kelley was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph's High School where he was captain of the football team.
          He was 85 years old and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nadine Louise (nee Mayer) Kelley; children, Kathleen (Wes Clark) of Fairfax, Virginia, Jennifer (Ralph Acevedo) of Rockville, Maryland , Deborah of Laurel, Maryland and Frederick (Thuzar Myint) of Columbia, Maryland. He leaves behind seven grandchildren; Sean and Daniel Rushlow, Charles and David Acevedo, Alexander, Christopher and Maria Acevedo. He is also remembered by at least three dozen nieces and nephews, and four sisters-in-law. He is preceded by parents Charles Kelley and Mary O'Neil Kelley of Pittsfield, MA, as well as siblings Robert, Gerald, Marion, John, Eleanor, Bernard and Daniel.
          Mr. Kelley arrived in Washington, D.C. after serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. And, after taking and passing the Foreign Service exam, he attended Georgetown University on the GI bill, while working as a congressional aid. After finishing his studies, he joined the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service officer. He met his wife, Nadine at a party in 1956. They married June 1, 1957 and throughout the early years of their married life they traveled the world; buoyed up by the optimism of the Kennedy administration and the hopes of a brighter future for the world. Their assignments included East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), West Pakistan (now Pakistan), Singapore and Canada. Their favorite assignment was Islamabad, in the late 1960's. They found it rich in history and culture and full of promise. After retirement, Fred and Nadine traveled the U.S. in a VW minibus exploring much of the country before taking up part-time work as tax preparers. Fred also did family genealogy work and found that his direct ancestor John Crosier of Boston had been a Minute Man and had fought in several key battles of the Revolutionary War and alongside General George Washington, all making Kelley eligible for The Society of the Cincinnati.
          Fred and Nadine fully retired to Bethany Beach, Delaware from 1996 till 2016. They left many dear friends in Bethany before relocating back to the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC for health reasons last year.
          SERVICES: Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled later this year where Kelley will join his parents and older brother Gerald.

          Hazel M. Crozier, 84 of Dresden died Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice. She was born in Dresden April 3, 1932 to the late Charles “Chalk” and Vera (Wolford) Hahn.
          She is survived by her children, Rodney H. (Peggy) Rollison, Jr. of Frazeysburg, Richard (Denise) Rollison of Dresden, Terry (Pamela) Crozier of Coshocton, Ted (Karen) Crozier, Sr. of Dresden, Cheryl (David) Untied of Dresden; step-children, Paul E. (Nancy) Crozier, Jr, of Frazeysburg , Lois (Mike) Buckenberger of St. Louisville, Linda McVay, Donna Cochran both of Frazeysburg; sister, Ruth (Arthur) Untied of Dresden; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Hahn of Dresden; twenty-five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. “Gene” Crozier, Sr.; brother, John Hahn; sister, Marian Chamberlin.
          Hazel was a 1950 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a member of the Dresden Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Longaberger Company as a supervisor in the stain dept. She had previously worked for Essex Wire and the Social Supper in Dresden.
          Calling hours will be observed Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
          Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dresden Chapel VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 714 Main Street with Pastor Carl Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.

          Willard H. Crozier, 86, lifelong resident of Dresden, died unexpectedly at 3:47PM Friday June 3, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Dresden on April 5, 1919, a son of the late Sheldon and Gertrude (Paynter) Crozier. Willard had worked for the Village of Dresden in the street department and been the sexton of the Dresden Cemetery for many years, helping care for the cemetery grounds with his wife, Margaret, long after his retirement. He had helped his son, Ron, the current cemetery sexton, prepare the cemetery for Memorial Day last week. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener, hunting ginseng, hunting and playing billiards. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a life member of the DAV. Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Wright) Crozier; six daughters, Wanda (Tony) Green of Adamsville, Peggy Shelton, Becky Stotts and friend, Geoff Percy, Kathy (David) Coats, Nancy (Scott) Robinson, Janet Kildow of Zanesville, all of Dresden; a son Ronald Crozier of Dresden; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sister, Bernice (Herb) Hamby of Dresden and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Charles, Dempsey, Bernard, David Lee Crozier, sister Adalene Ruebush and son in law Daniel Shelton preceded him in death.
