          1935-2012 LANESBOROUGH Geraldine Ann Hubbard, 77, of 84 Greylock Road, Lanesborough, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at her home.
          Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1935, a daughter of Darrell T. and Frances A. Gedney Croshier, she attended Pittsfield schools.
          Mrs. Hubbard was a homemaker. Over the years, she had also been a housekeeper for Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility, Holiday Inn, and the Pittsfield City Motel.
          She enjoyed playing cards with her family and card games with her grand-children. She loved her cat.

          Mrs. Hubbard is survived by three daughters, Jo-Ann Hassan and her husband, Kenneth, of Lanesborough, Sandra Chaney of Lanesborough, and Tina Massaro and her husband, Mark, of the Town of Washington; two sisters, Azoa Haywood of Pittsfield and Faye Shirley of Lady Lake, Fla.; a brother, Darrell Croshier of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Donna A. Chaney, Trisha Uhlman, Ryan Chaney, Alisha Hassan, Marisa Massaro, Jaryd Massaro, and Alexandra Massaro and two great grandchildren, Cora Chaney and Reiley Chaney.
          Another brother, Edson Croshier, pre-deceased her.
          FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Geraldine Ann Hubbard will be held Thursday, September 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 14, at 11 a.m., at Pittsfield Cemetery with Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. (Those attending are invited to meet inside the Cemetery gate at 10:45 a.m.).
          In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Hubbard may be made to the charity of one's choice

          Edson R. Croshier
          1929-2010 PITTSFIELD Edson R. Croshier, 80, of 379 East St., Providence Court Apartments in Pittsfield, died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
          Born on June 13, 1929, in Pittsfield, son of the late Darryl and Frances Gedney Croshier, he was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and was educated in Pittsfield schools.
          He served with the Navy aboard the USS Paiute.
          He married his wife, the former Phyllis Hodlin, on Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Mark Church in Pittsfield. She died on May 11, 1995.
          Mr. Croshier was employed as an assembler at the former E.D. Jones and Beloit Corporation in Dalton for over forty years. He retired in 1988.
          An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. A longtime baseball fan, he enjoyed attending all of the Pittsfield Mets games at Wahconah Park. He also followed the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. While at Providence Court he enjoyed playing cards with all of his friends and neighbors.
          He leaves three sons, Joseph F. Croshier and his wife, Mary Rose, of Pittsfield, George W. Croshier and his wife, Linda, of Pittsfield, and Kenneth R. Croshier and his wife, Kelly, of the State of Florida; three daughters, Lisa M. Croshier and her husband, Shawn Maloney, of Pittsfield, Teresa M. Croshier and her husband, John Strzempko, of Ashburnham, Mass., and Sharon M. Croshier of Pittsfield. He also leaves a brother, Darryl Croshier of Gt. Barrington; three sisters, Azoa Haywood of Pittsfield, Geraldine Hubbard of Lanesboro, and Faye Shirley of the State of Florida; 15 grandchildren and three great- granddaughters.
          FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Edson R. Croshier, 80, of Pittsfield who died Mar. 24, 2010, will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. A private graveside service will take place in Pittsfield Cemetery.

          MODENA - Thomas G.Croshier Sr., of Modena, passed away on Dec. 17, 2005
          at Bronx VA Medical Center. Mr. Croshier had worked as a plumber and steam fitter for
          Shaker, Travis and Quinn in Poughkeepsie until his retirement in 2003. He also worked
          for S.T. Environmental as a licensed water treatment plant operator. A four year Modena
          resident, he previously resided in Wappingers Falls.
          Mr. Croshier served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963- 1967. He was of Episcopalian faith and enjoyed photography, cooking and gardening.
          Mr. Croshier was bom Jan. 16, 1945 in Hughsonville. He was the son of Thomas L. and
          Joanna Dyson Croshier. He attended Wappingers schools.
          On Nov. 1, 1998 in Hughsonville, he married Shelley Roessler.
          Survivors include his wife, Joanna; his son and daughterin-law, Thomas G. and Kim
          Croshier Jr. of Pine Plains; his son, Michael J. Croshier; -his daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Ray Salas; his daughter, Joanna Croshier, his daughter, Krishna Croshier; his grandchildren, Otto Croshier of Pine Plains and Camilla Salas; and. his several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his faithful companions, Molly, Rosie. Tilly and Homer (his pets).
          Funeral services were held on Dec. 23, 2005 at theDelehanty Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls. Cremation was at Poughkeepsie Rural Crematory.
          Arrangements were under the direction of the Delehanty Funeral Home, Wappingers
          Falls.

          Eleanor J. Croshier of the Village of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, March 9, 2009 at home. She was 74.
          Daughter of the late Arthur G. Booth and the late Mary Catherine VanVliet Decker, she was born on September 11, 1934 in Poughkeepsie. She married the love of her life, Robert S. Croshier on July 12, 1953 in Chelsea; Mr. Croshier precedes her in death, passing on July 14, 1985.
          Eleanor was born and raised on her family's farm in Chelsea; she also attended Wappingers Schools. She had many jobs throughout her life. In addition to raising her two children, she was a former secretary for the Hughsonville Fire Department, a regular poll worker and a former member of the Wappingers Falls Republican Club. Most recently, she was a court clerk for Town of Wappinger Justice Court, until her retirement. In her spare time, Eleanor was an avid bingo player and loved to shop the flea markets. She was also a devoted congregant of the United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls.
          Survivors include her daughters, Diane M. Williams and her companion, Uriel Richardson of Poughkeepsie, and Susan L. Croshier of Poughkeepsie; brother, Richard Booth and his wife, Connie of North Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Judith Frauenberger and her husband, Donald of Greenville, Nancy J. Smith of San Diego, CA, Betty Ladabouche and her husband, Walter of Rutland, VT, and Joy A. Eigo and her husband, John of Connolly; grandchildren, Michael Williams and his wife, Rosie of Pleasant Valley, and Marcus Williams and his companion, Monique of Hyde Park; great-grandchildren, Omar, Jayvion and Elijah; and several nieces and nephews.
          In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Booth, Jr.
          Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
          A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls, 9 South Mesier Avenue in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in the family plot in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.

          HEBRON, N.Y. -- Josephine `Jo` A. Crosier, 62, died Friday, August 16, 1996 in St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT., after a long illness. She was a former resident of Hebron and had lived in Bridgeport since 1981. She was born in White Creek, March 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Hoard) Peters. She was a former employee of C.A. Baltz & Sons in Salem. Survivors include two sons, Randy Crosier of Valley Falls and Richard Crosier of Salem; two sisters, Annabelle Hansen of Buskirk and Elizabeth Bassett of Salem; four brothers, Chauncey Peters and Danny Peters, both of Shushan, Fred Peters of Eagle Bridge and William Peters of Johnsonville; nine grandchildlren, three step- grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Steven and Stanley Peters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, in the McClellan Funeral Home, East Broadway, Salem with the Rev. David Hall, officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge. Friends may call in the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that donations in her memory be made to the American Lung Association, 8 Mountain View Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12205-5055.

          He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Granville, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Rosemary (Constant) Young.
          He graduated from Whitehall High School.
          He worked for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad in various locations, and retired after 30 years of service. He also bartended for many years in West Rutland, Vt.
          He enjoyed gardening and humorous limericks.
          Survivors include his wife, Maureen (Lynch) Young of Whitehall, whom he married on May 24, 1975; a daughter, Caitlin of Bohemia, N.Y.; a son, Jordan of Orlando, Fla.; a granddaughter; his siblings, Connie Crosier of Whitehall, Gail Camfield of Glens Falls, and Timothy Young of Mohrsville, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
          In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sam Young and Michael Young.
          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Skene Street, Whitehall, N.Y., with the Rev. Rendell Torres, pastor, officiating. A reception will follow at the family home on Carvers Falls Lane.
          There will be no calling hours.
          Interment will be at a later date.

          On June 29, 1981, she married Richard Camfield in Glens Falls. They have been married for 33 wonderful years. Gail loved spending time and taking care of her husband and family.
          She also was a beautiful seamstress, a great baker and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
          Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel Young, Michael Young and James Young.
          Survivors include her loving husband, Richard Camfield of Glens Falls; her daughter, Heather Harrington and her husband, Scott of Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Brett Harrington and Tess Harrington; a sister, Connie Crosier of Whitehall; a brother, Tim Young and his wife, Cathy of PA; two sisters in law, Maureen Young of Whitehall, Carol Young, also of Whitehall and Katherine Rielly and her husband, Mike of NJ; a brother in law, Peter Camfield and his wife, Ellen of Rochester; her cousins, Sarah Basta, Joe Sulllivan, Jerry Sullivan and John “Jack” Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews.

          Born April 11, 1949 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Charles and Doris (LaVoy) Camfield.
          Richard attended St. Mary’s Academy and was a class of 1968 Glens Falls High School graduate. After high school, he attended BOCES where he obtained certification for sheet metal fabrication.
          On June 29, 1981, he married Gail Marie Young in Glens Falls. They were married for 33 wonderful years until she passed away November 20, 2014.
          Richard worked for Ames Goldsmith in Glens Falls, North East Heating Supply in Glens Falls and also Genesee Refrigeration.
          He was a simple man but a hard worker and great provider who always put his family first. Richard was wonderful caring father and grandfather who loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
          Besides his parents and wife, Richard was predeceased by his grandmother, Ruby Morris, his aunt, who was like a second mother, Helene Sullivan Dever, and his brothers in law, Michael, James and Sam Young.
          Survivors include his daughter, Heather Harrington and her husband, Scott of Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Brett Harrington and Tess Harrington; his sister, Katherine Rielly and her husband, Mike of NJ; his brother, Peter Camfield and his wife, Ellen of Rochester; his cousins, which he shared a home with growing up, Sarah Basta and her late husband, John, Joe Sulllivan and his wife, Nancy, Jerry Sullivan and John “Jack” Sullivan; his sisters in law, Connie Crosier of Whitehall, Maureen Young of Whitehall and Carol Young, also of Whitehall; his brother in law, Tim Young and his wife, Cathy of PA; his aunt, Marge Campfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.

          Miss Myra Crosliier the Bride ot a New York Gentleman.
          There was a pretty and yet quiet home wedding at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Croshier near Wappingers Falls at 4 o’clock this afternoon, the principals in which were Miss Myra Croshier and Fred C, Shultz of New York,
          Only the immediate relatives of the contracting couple were present. Rev. S. J. Douglas of Wappingers Falls was the officiating clergyman. The best man was B.Maar of New York and Miss Sadie Croshier,the bride’s sister acted as bridesmaid. John Hadden of Wappingers Falls performed the duties of usher.
          Mr. and Mrs. Schultz will leave on the 7:15 train from New Hamburg tonight. After a wedding trip, they will take up their residence at 455 West Fortyseventh street.
          Mr. Schultz is manager of a large livery stable in New York and is a very estimable gentleman.
          Miss Croshier has been for a number of years connected with Smith Brothers’ establishment in this city and was universally popular with the firm, associates and patrons of the place. Among the many handsome presents-received by her was a valuable silver tea set from
          the firm and employees of Smiths.

          WARWICK- Bertrand Alva Ballou, 85, of Orange Road died peacefully Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Community Hospital of Monterey (CA) Peninsula.
          He was born on July 14, 1931 in Springfield, Vermont to Grover Ballou and Beryl (Ballou) Day, both of whom predeceased him.
          Bert grew up on a farm in Chester, Vermont and attended Chester Elementary School, later graduating from Chester High School.
          He leaves a son, Gary Lee Ballou from his first marriage to Harriet Williams. Bert later moved to Orange, MA where he met his second wife, Virginia Ballou, whom he married on October 8, 1960. Having separated after 10 years of marriage, he then lived with Bev Rand until she passed away in 1983.
          Bert is currently survived by Gail McCall with whom he had a long term relationship for the past 29 years. She had been caring for him in Warwick in his later years, until he moved in with his daughter, Celia Stauty de Luis in California. In the last months of his life, he got to see the redwoods for the first time and was happy to go for walks where he could see deer, or go to the ocean, which he loved, and could watch the seals. He enjoyed gardening, camping in Maine, South Athol church suppers, and telling stories about his uncle Roscoe whom he was quite fond of. He also enjoyed the family reunions he had held for a number of years at his home in Warwick. Bert was a hard worker and had worked as a machinist for Union Twist Drill.
          Bert leaves behind five children from his second marriage, Celia Stauty de Luis, Pacific Grove, CA, Karen Clark, Orange, Tim Ballou of Montague, Bertrand Ballou Jr. Greenfield, and Darryl Ballou of Greenfield; six grandchildren Nathanael Stauty, Jonathan Stauty, Brian Clark, Kristie Howe, Brendan Clark, and Zoe Ballou; a brother, Grover “Bud” Ballou of Orange; two half brothers, John Ballou and Pete Ballou; a half sister, Pat Drown, all of New Hampshire.
          Also predeceasing him were two brothers, Edmund Ballou and Clifford Ballou; a half brother, Pierre Ballou and step mother, Thelma Ballou.
          A calling hour will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
          A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of the Orange Central Congregational Church officiating.
          Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
          In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
          Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.
