1925 - 2015 William D. "Pie" McKenna, age 89, formerly of Readsboro, VT, Rowe, MA and West Lebanon, NH, died on September 30 in Port Orange, FL. Born on November 25, 1925 to the late Edward and Aurella (Boudreau) McKenna, Bill was a proud World War II veteran, having served on the USS Vincennes in the South Pacific. Upon returning to Readsboro after the service, Bill began two endeavors that would sustain him for many years: his 41 year career with New England Power Company, and his 68 year marriage to his sweetheart, Ina (Shippee) McKenna. Together they raised five children who remain to cherish his memory and continue his life-long example of hard-work, resourcefulness and humor: Jane McKenna and her husband, Doug of Stevensville, MONT, Susan Pickering of Sudbury, VT, Bill McKenna and his wife, Cindy of Homer, AK, David McKenna and his wife, Stacia of Readsboro, VT, and Connie Crowell and her husband, Patrick of Monroe, CT.           Crosier and Cushman (Perley S. Crosier and Horatio B. Cushman) 602 eight av.
From Ancestry Message Board, July 31, 2008 from Robert Breen:
My Great Grandfather, Henry Breen, and Perley Safford Crosier had a Bakery in New York City around 1870. Perley was born in Searsburg, Vt 18 Sep 1845 the son of Levi Crosier and Abigal Basset. He married Sarah Shirmer 24 Aug 1870. They had two children George and Sadie, but I do not believe either one married.
My interest is any information related to the NYC Bakery Business and the association with my Great Grandfather.
First Baptist Winter Haven started in a schoolhouse in the summer of 1885. Mrs. S.A. Crosier, a member of Thirty-Third Street Baptist Church, New York City, living in Winter Haven, raised funds from her home church in New York to begin a Baptist work in Florida.
On November 22, 1885, the First (Missionary) Baptist Church of Winter Haven was organized with five charter members: Mrs. Eliza J. Pierpont, Walter J. Robinson, Mrs. Annie Robinson, P.S. Crosier and Mrs. S.A. Crosier. The Rev. P.S. Crosier was the church's first pastor. In 1886 the church was received into the South Florida Baptist Association. The first church was erected at the site of Third Street and Central Avenue S.W. for the sum of $700.
          from: http://www.floridabaptisthistory.org/biographies
          P. S. Crosier was the founding pastor of First Baptist Church Winter Haven in 1885. He and his family moved to the Winter Haven area in 1885, and organized a Sunday School in the real estate office. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, preacher, and then pastor. Crosier was pastor at Winter Haven on two occasions: 1885-1892 and 1895-1896.
Crosier was not ordained until January 1, 1887, and then he was formally called as pastor at Winter Haven.
