From: The Recorder, Sept. 2, 2017 EAST LONGMEADOW - Bessie R. Sessions 92, passed away at home on Wednesday surrounded in the love and comfort of her family. Bessie was born November 24, 1924 in Colrain, MA to the late John and Florence (Newton) Hillman. She spent her youth in Colrain attending local schools and was a graduate of Charlemont High School, class of 1943. Bessie married the love of her life, Floyd W. Sessions who predeceased her in 1975. Bessie was a professional seamstress and had worked for the William Carter Company of Springfield for more than 33 years before her retirement in 1987. After marrying, she lived in Agawam raising her family for over 55 years before relocating to East Longmeadow nine years ago. She was a lifelong member of the Agawam Congregational Church. The things she loved most were spending time with her beloved family, world-wide travels, and her avid love of the Boston Red Sox. She leaves her cherished children Douglas K. Sessions and wife Janet of East Longmeadow, and Lorraine A. Boyden of Conway, MA. She also leaves her siblings Russell Hillman of Turners Falls and Flora Spencer of New Port Richey, Florida. Left to carry on her legacy are her grandchildren, Erin and Korie Sessions, with whom, after Bessie's retirement, she loved spending the greatest portion of her time. Also, she leaves grandchildren Jane Wholey, William and Ronald Boyden. She leaves her great grandchildren Josiah, Patrick, Evelyn, Alexandra, Emily and Kevin and her great, great grandchildren Frederick, Jasper, Isaac and Silas. Bessie was predeceased by her siblings Smead, Eunice, Hazel, Donald, Ellen and John. She was predeceased by her son Floyd Sessions Jr. in 1971 and grandson Norman Boyden in 1994. She also leaves many cherished memories and friends at Riverside Park (Agawam) and Brownstone Gardens in East Longmeadow. Bessie will be remembered fondly by many for her quick wit, sense of humor and her infamous home cooked turkey pie. Bessie's calling hours will be held privately for her family, followed by a funeral home memorial service. Burial will immediately follow at the Agawam Center Cemetery where she will be reunited with her late husband and son. The family has requested that any memorial donations be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 50 Maple Street, Springfield, MA. 01102. The Agawam Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. |

Published in Brattleboro Reformer on Oct. 31, 2005 BRATTLEBORO -- John Roland Hillman, 79, died Saturday Oct. 29, 2005 at the Eden Park Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born in Colrain Mass., on Dec. 20, 1926, the son of John Hillman and Florence Newton. He grew up in Heath, Mass., and graduated from the Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton, Mass., and the American School for the Deaf in Hartford, Conn. He worked briefly at the Austine School and then worked at the Brattleboro Book Binding Co., for 34 years, which he retired from. In May of 1954 he married Rebecca Moody. is hobbies included taking long auto trips, traveling to Florida and socializing with his many deaf friends. Mr. Gillman is survived by his companion, Carol Sue Powers; two brothers, Smead Hillman of Heath and Russell Hillman of Turners Falls, Mass.; four sisters, Bessie Sessions of Agawam Mass., Eunice Terrill of Shelburne Falls Mass., Hazel Wilson of Charlemont, Mass., and Flora Spencer of Newport Fla. She was born in Ashfield, MA on June 25, 1909, the daughter of Floyd and Flora (Crosier) Hinkley and was a 1927 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was employed for over 30 years as an administrative assistant for the late U.S. Congressman Silvio O. Conte, at his law office and later his regional congressional office in Pittsfield, MA, retiring in 1970. Mrs. Sinacori and her husband Vito Sinacori had resided in Simsbury for the past year. Mr. Sinacori died April 1, 1999. While in Simsbury she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Sinacori is survived by two sons, V. Michael Sinacori of West Simsbury, and William Sinacori of Auburn, CA; a sister, Claudine Stutz of Lenox, MA; four grandchildren, Michael and his wife Suzanne Sinacori, Marnie and her husband Dan Paulus, and Billy and Danny Sinacori; and three great grandchildren, Nicholas and Sean Sinacori and Jack Paulus; and daughters- in-law, Sharon and Sherry Sinacori. Funeral is Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. from the Roche Funeral Home, Lenox, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Lenox, MA. Burial in St. Ann's Cemetery.
