He was born in Boston and raised in East Boston. He had previously lived in North Andover, before moving to Tewksbury in 1975. He served in the Marines during World War II in the South Pacific. Before his retirement in 1981, he was a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department for 33 years. He was assigned to many stations, but spent most of his service at Engine Company 4 on Cambridge Street. He was a member of the Boston Firefighters Association, Local 718. He was a 50-year member of the East Boston American Legion Post 30. He leaves his wife of 30 years, Sally-Lee (Walsh); a son, Keith of Maine; three sisters, Rosemary Crosier of Dalton, Loretta Cole of Wilmington, and Barbara Salamone of Tewksbury; a brother, Robert of California; and two grandchildren |

She was preceded in death by her parents C.L. and Lois Habig, step mother Lola Crosier Habig, husband Cecil Ray Bradley, sister and brother-in-law Marge and Leo Karnowski, two brothers and one sister-in-law Jack and Dee Habig, and Ken Habig. Survivors include three sons and daughters in law Steve and Erin Bradley, Phoenix, Arizona, Phil and Brenda Bradley, Hutto, Texas, Jim and Angela Bradley, Texarkana, Texas, one daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Mike Duncan, Kilgore, Texas; ten grandchildren Jeremy and,Elizabeth Bradley,Mark and Jamie Long, Jared and Brandi Duncan Brandt And Samantha Bradley, Ariel, Alex, Amelia and Austin Bradley, four great grandchildren, Elia, Coby,and Jesse Long, Ryan Duncan, Longview, one brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Diana Habig, Marysville, Kansas, one step brother and sister in law Duane and Lois Crosier and , one step sister and brother in law Jerry and Judy Ford and numerous nieces nephews, and friends. She also graduated from Thompson School of Nursing in Brattleboro, Vt. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, painting, and art. She was a member of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Chesterfield. She is survived by two sons, David N. Smith and Norman R.D. Smith, of Chesterfield and a daughter, Margaret Bowlin of Denver. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Hager. |

Published in Brattleboro Reformer from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26, 2008 GUY JOHN HALL 1925 - 2008 EAST DOVER, Guy John Hall 83, a former resident of East Dover and a resident of Main Street in Charlemont died at the Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield on Friday morning Sept. 19, 2008. Mr. Hall was born at home in East Dover on Feb. 16, 1925, he was the son of John and Lula Howe Hall. He attended school in East Dover and had worked at area dairy farms prior to relocating to Charlemont several years ago to reside with his sister Flora Fitzroy. Mr. Hall enjoyed watching all types of machinery working, especially the trains which passed near his home, he was always willing to help others, enjoyed visiting people and raising gladiolas which he would deliver to the local ladies. He leaves a brother, Leonard and wife, Betty Hall, of East Dover, and a sister, Flora, and husband, Herb Fitzroy, of Charlemont, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins, he was predeceased by a brother Stanley Hall, who was killed during the Korean War in 1952. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be held at the COVEY & ALLEN FUNERAL HOME in Wilmington on Thursday October 2 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the family lot in East Dover Cemetery.
