HELEN SMITH CROSIER GEARHEART, aged 17, of Cleveland, O., shown above, without the formality of a divorce from her first husband, Wilson Crosier, of Cleveland, is alleged to have married George Gearheart, of 5128 Lytle st., Hazelwood. Today, she was held for court trial on a charge of bigamy by Magistrate Brandon in Morals court.
GIRL BIGAMIST HELD FOR COURT Police Arrest. Couple in Hazelwood Home. Mrs. Helen Smith Crosier Gearhart, aged 17, an attractive blond, of Cleveland, was held for court by Magistrate A, D. Brandon in Morals court today, following a hearing on a charge of bigamy. Mrs. Gearhart was arrested last night, together with her second husband, George Gearhart, of 5138 Lytle st., Hazelwood. Gearhart, charged with misdemeanor, was also held for court trial. Bail was fixed at $1,000 for each. Mrs. Gearhart successfully eluded police Saturday night by hiding in a trunk when police called at her home, she said toY JiS-' Mrs. Gearhart was married, it is said, to Wilson Crosier of Cleveland, May 25, 1927. Recently Gearhart was in Cleveland and became acquainted with the girL She came here and resided with an aunt, Mrs. Gertrude Gams of 1711 Howard st. Last Tuesday, it is alleged, Gearhart and Mrs. Crosier were married by Rev. James Smith of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Second ave. and Mansion st. Following the ceremony the couple went to the Gearhart horne to live. in the meantime, the girl's mother, Mrs. Helen Weaver of Cleveland, and the girl's aunt, Mrs. Garus, asked local authorities to make an attempt to find her. The officers learned that she had been married and the couple was arrested. Police allege that Gearhart knew that the girl was married before he married her. .

Estelle Menard 1922 - 2012 CHICOPEE - Estelle (Desroches) Menard, 90, daughter of the late Olivine (Berneche) and Edgar Desroches of Chi-copee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her Family in the same Willimansett home she and her husband had occupied since their marriage in May 1944. She had been a lifelong resident of Chicopee MA and communicant of the Church of the Nativity BVM where she was active in numerous parish affairs. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Norman Menard, in 2003; by her son Kenneth Menard in 1983, and by her sisters Vivian Crosier and Anita Brunelle. She is survived by her son Dennis Menard and his wife Jacqueline of Tolland MA, and by her Grandchildren: Kristine Wynn and her sons Kenneth and Kyle of Creston IA; by Michelle Owens and her children Victoria and Daniel of Springwater NY; by Michael Menard and his daughter Asha of West Springfield MA; by Holly Mortell and her children Sean and Breana of Chicopee; and by April Menard of Tolland MA. Estelle had been a long time employee of the Bernashe and Brochu Insurance Agencies of Chicopee, and had been active in various community and parish affairs. She was the center of family gatherings, had always enjoyed gardening and summers at her camp in East Otis, and of late, sitting in the sunshine on her porches. She lived a long and peaceful life, and died as peacefully as she lived. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30AM - 10:30AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. He was born Feb. 2, 1920 in Waitville, West Virginia to the late Thomas and Emma (Clarkson) Crosier. "A. V." owned and operated the Crosier Lumber Co. of Freeport, Ohio prior to his retirement and relocating to New Philadelphia in 1983. He was a life long member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, Member of the American forestry Association and attended the Park Christian Church at Dennison.He is survived by his wife; Lucille S. (Tetirick) Crosier, whom he married December 20, 1952, sons; Vernon C. Crosier, Barry L. Crosier both of New Philadelphia, granddaughters; Beth and Rebecca Crosier and Valerie Martin all of New Philadelphia, great granddaughters Alexis and Isabella Martin also of New Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Louise Crosier-Purper, sisters; Maude McPeak, Gladys Crosier, Anna Mae McPeak, O'Dessa Bradley and Nora Robinson, and brothers; Frank, Stanley, Ervin, Staley, and Norval.Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 22, 2004, 1 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. She was born April 15, 1915 in Winterset, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Sadie Tetirick; husband, Audrine; Brothers, Loyd, Craig, Hugh, Teddy, and sisters, Madge, Martha, Alice, Mary, Dorothy; daughter, Louise Purpur.
She is survived by her sons Vernon & Barry Crosier of New Philadelphia, Ohio; grandchildren, Beth Crosier, Valorie (Pat) Martin, Becky Crosier; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Isabella, Mitchel, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
On December 20, 1952, she married Audrine Crosier and lived in Freeport. Audrine died July 18, 2004.
Lucille was a graduate of Winterset H.S. in the class of 1933. She along with mother, moved to Tippecanoe. She attended the Assembly of God Church for several years and served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also the Crosier Lumber Company secretary at Freeport, Ohio for 25 years. Upon Retirement, they moved to New Philadelphia, Ohio. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She cherished her many get-togethers with her family and friends. She enjoyed her many traveling trips. She took pride in her gardening and communicating to her family and friends with her computer.
She attended church all her life and presently was attending Park Christian Church in Dennison, Ohio.
Lucille was a blessing to all who knew her and we take comfort in knowing she is now "home."
