Lauder, 85, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Salem on Jan. 1, 1917, daughter of James and Minnie (McQueen) Crosier. Helen was a graduate of Greenwich Central School and Albany State Teachers College. She taught eighth grade social studies at the Greenwich Central School from 1954 to 1979. Helen enjoyed reading and was a member of the Salem First United Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Retired Teachers Association. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Lauder who died in 1998; two sisters, Jessie Startup and Anna Vecchio; four brothers, Jay, Ralph, William and George Crosier. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy and her husband, Robert Salembier of Plattsburgh; two sons, Thomas Lauder and James and his wife, Monica Lauder of Newark, Ohio; four grandchildren, Robert Salembier of Fairfax, Va., Stuart Salembier of Ronkonkoma and his fianc?, Julia Sheehan of East Meadow, Lauren Lauder of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Terrance Lauder of Athens, Ohio; two nephews, Ronald and Ralph Crosier; two brothers-in-law, Pat Lauder and his wife, Janet and Bert Lauder. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Salem, with the Rev. Charles Murn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Salem. There will be no calling hours. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Skilled Nursing Facility at the CVPH Medical Center, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
