          James (Jim) Lloyd Crosier Sr., 79, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday April 21, 2014. James was born in Radford, a son to the late John and Ola Lucille Sowder Crosier, along with his parents James was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny McDonald; four brothers, Jack, Robert, Bill and Harold Crosier; one sister, Ann Thompson. James attended school in Shawsville, after he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, later worked at Yale Locks and then Medeco Locks as a foreman and then became the owner operator of Crosier Grocery, in Salem, he enjoyed time gardening and auctions. Left behind to cherish his memories are his son, James L. Crosier Jr.; daughter in-law, Tracy; Sister, Helen Owens and Jane Barnett; grandson, Brandon James Crosier; along with a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Open Door Baptist Church, 3995 Roanoke St. Christiansburg, a funeral service to honor the life of James (Jim) Lloyd Crosier, will start at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the church with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating, interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery. Sister, Debbie (Paul) Portman of Leitchfield, 5 Neices, 3 Nephews, 2 Great Nephews Aunt, Della Gore of Cecilia, Mother in Law, Sudie Hay of Big Clifty, Several Cousins and a host of friends.           HARTFORD - Muriel (McKernon) Chapman, 89, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Pleasant Valley, Argyle.
          She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Hebron, N.Y., the daughter of Willard and Rachel (Juckett) McKernon.
          Muriel was a member of the Hartford Methodist Church.
          She retired from the General Electric in Fort Edward with 22 years of service. She was a member of the Hartford and Argyle Senior Citizens. Muriel was a life member of Anolia Chapter 140 Order of the Eastern Star, of Hartford. She greatly enjoyed her camp in Vermont and loved playing cards with family and friends.
          Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Merton Chapman and her sisters, Geraldine Graham and Lois Daniels.
          Muriel is survived by her daughter, Loanne Bain and her husband, David Jr., of Argyle; by her son, Webster Chapman and his wife, Theresa, of Hartford; and by seven grandchildren: Nancy Holck and her husband, David, of Argyle, Linda Becker and husband, David, of Cazenovia, N.Y., and James Bain of Argyle, Michelle Moore and her husband, Mark, of Mechanicville, Robin Dibble of Hartford, Webster Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Hartford, and Marcus Chapman and his wife, Stacy, of Hartford. She had fifteen great-grand children: Jennifer Nims and her husband, Adam, David White, Daniel Holck, Kevin Holck, Nicholas Becker, Christopher Becker, Travis Cass, Ashleigh Chapman, Morgan Chapman, Mason Chapman, Alexandra Baldwin, Cameron Sipowicz, Andrew Sipowicz and Carly Sipowicz, and two great-great- granddaughters Alondra and Karlee Nims. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Beverely Crosier and her husband, Lyle, of Salem and Goldie Chapman of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
          At Muriel's request there will be no calling hours.
          Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Morningside Cemetery, Hartford with the Rev. Steve Mc Lean, pastor of the Argyle United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hartford First Responders, Hartford, NY 12838, the Hartford United Methodist Church, Main Street, Hartford NY 12838 or the Argyle Emergency Squad, 248 Pleasant Valley Road, Argyle, NY12809.

Survivors include her children, Nelson Crosier (Marcia) of Brockport, Bonnie Banahan (James) of Selkirk, and Connie Mitchell (Fabian) of Schoharie; sisters, Betty Tompkins of Alcove, Joan Gifford of Latham, and Margaret McGrail of West Sand Lake; stepchildren, Kevin Babcock (Toni) of Guilderland, Craig Babcock (Dori) of Mechanicville and Laura Baird (Frank) of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Maryann Liber-tucci (Chris) of West Coxsackie; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mildred was pre-deceased by her son, Keith Crosier; stepson, Brian Babcock; and brothers, Kenneth, Albert, Raymond and Marvin Gifford.           Delmar VFW Post 3185 and the Bethlehem Elks. He was also a member of the Punta
          Gorda American Legion Post 103, the Moose Lodge 1693 and the Eagles in Port
          Charlotte. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Babcock of Fla.; children,
          Kevin (Toni) Babcock of New Baltimore, Brian Babcock of Watervliet, Craig

          Scace, William, Oldest male in Scace clan dies at 84 William Scace, 84, of Cascade Street, well known here as the oldest living male in the Seace family of farmers and dairymen, died yesterday at the Berkshire Nursing Home after a long illness. Prior to his retirement; Mr. Scace operated the Radium Springs Farm on Cascade Street for many years. Back in the 1940s, he and his son, William, were among the first farmers in the area to use modern equipment to clear their 33 acres of woodiand for grazing land for the large Scace dairy herd. Mr. Scace was also well known as the Berkshires' Will Rogers because of his story-telling talents. Born in Colonie, N.Y., he was the son of John and Louisa Magerlee Scace. He moved with his family to Pittsfield in 1914. He studied floriculture at Massachusetts State College. In addition to his farming interests, he was active in the Pittsfield city government. He served on the Common Council in 1923 and 1924 and as an alderman in 1925. He was a Republican City Committee in Ward 6 for many years and was appointed a fence viewer for the city by the late Mayor James Fallen, a position he held for many years. Mr. Scace was married to the former Elizabeth Smith. Before her death in 1970, Mrs. Scace had been a retired schoolteacher and principal in the Pittsfield school system. He is survived by a son, William Scace IV of Pittsfield; three daughters, Mrs. William J. Zahn and Mrs. Zigmund Zegarwoski, both of Pittsfield, and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Sherholt of New Jersey and Mrs. Charlotte Crosier of Pittsfield; four brothers, Frank, Raymond, George and E. Irving Scace, alt of Pittsfield; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Services will be at the Wellington Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Luther P. Durgin of Immanuel Chapel officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.

Bobby J. Crosier, 72, of Linton, went to be with the Lord at 6:18 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at his residence. He was the first baby born in Harrison County, Indiana, on Jan. 1, 1939, the son of James & Catherine Crosier. Bobby retired from Jackson Brothers Lumber Company in 2003 in Linton. He was an avid reader of American history and he enjoyed traveling with his family. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He attended trade school to be a lumber inspector and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 of Linton.

          Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late William and Phoebe Corey.
          She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Post in Troy.
          Helen was the wife of the late Alfred Danforth. She is the mother of Florence (Cliff) Allen of Plymouth, IN, Charles (Fran) Crawford of Ballston Spa and Hallie Crosier of Petersburg. Helen is the sister of William (Tilley) Corey of Vermont and the late Earol Reynolds. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
          Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Route 155, south of Central Avenue).
          A calling hour will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.

ARLINGTON - Joseph Corey, 43, died Jan. 9, 2002, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a battle with cance.
          He was born June 7, 1958, in Bennington, the son of Walter and Mary (Derosia) Corey.
          He married Vicki Wilkins on July 10, 1989.
          Mr. Corey graduated from Arlington Memorial High School and attended Castleton State College, where he played on its basketball teams. He worked at various businesses in the local area.
          Mr. Corey coached at AMHS for 16 years. He amassed more than 150 wins with the Arlington basketball program. He was the Marble Valley League Coach of the Year four times. His team won the Vermont State Division III State Championship in 1998. He was Vermont’s nominee for the National Federation Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2000.
          He loved participating in as well as watching all types of sports. He was a great fan of the New York Yankees and Knicks.
          Survivors include his wife; seven siblings, Donald Corey of Bennington, Sandra Nichol of Boxboro, Mass., Nancy Sheldon, Jim Corey and Joanne Christiansen, all of Arlington, Jeff Corey of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and Sue Bahr of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
          Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington.
          The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Arlington. Burial will follow in St. Columban’s Cemetery in Arlington.

          Elnora Rapp Crozier, 61, formerly of Rotterdam Junction, died Thursday at the Montgomery County Infirmary after a long illness.
          She was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles and Mary Rapp, and lived in the capital region for many years.
          She was of the protestant faith.
          Her husband, Harry B. Crozier, died in 1982. There are no known survivors.
          Funeral services are 1:30 a.m. Monday at the Montgomery County Infirmary, 100 Sandy Drive, Amsterdam, with the Rev. Bill Siiss officiating.
          Calling hours are 1 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the service.
          Interment will be in Woestina Cemetery, Rotterdam Junction.
          Arrangements are by the Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady.
